Camila Cabello Hits The Studio With Rihanna And Gwen Stefani’s Producer — Is She Going Solo?

The Fifth Harmony split rumors are surfacing again all thanks to Camila Cabello. According to celebrity gossip blogs, the songstress was seen heading to the recording studio with a major music producer.

Fifth Harmony’s new album, 7/27, just dropped on May 27, and it appears that Camila Cabello is still set on her solo career. Following an intense week that involved promoting their new singles in both the U.S. and U.K., Cabello was seen making her way into a recording studio with music producer Benny Blanco.

There’s also visual proof that the two are working together. Benny made an appearance on Camila’s Snapchat account. The tweet has since been deleted, but you can check out the video here while it’s still up. Blanco is the man behind hit songs like Katy Perry’s “Teenage Dream,” Rihanna’s “Diamonds,” and Gwen Stefani’s “Baby Don’t Lie.”

Camila Cabello has been the center of solo music rumors for years. 5H fans are afraid that she will pull a Zayn Malik and leave the group high and dry for the sake of her own music career. Cabello last collaborated with EDM producer Major Lazer, which caused the Fifth Harmony split rumors to circulate again.

Fans had a breakdown when Camila was seen playing a rendition of Tracy Chapman’s “Fast Car” on Diplo’s Snapchat account. Camila was seen holding a microphone and staring in the camera as she coyly whispered “Major Lazer.”

However, it’s likely that she’s just being featured on an upcoming Major Lazer song, and that she won’t be ditching Fifth Harmony anytime soon. This isn’t the first time that Cabello has worked with another major artist while remaining loyal to her group. Cabello was last featured on Shawn Mendes’ hit single, “I Know What You Did Last Summer.”

Camila has expressed her frustration with the constant rumors surrounding her own music career and the future of Fifth Harmony. She denied the rumors that she had “calculated plans” to leave the group for the sake of her own solo career.

Additionally, Camila expressed that she felt the “backlash” she received from Harmonizers when she collaborated with Shawn.

“It’s very frustrating. It’s been very difficult to watch people criticize me and my intentions. It’s been sh***y. They turned me [doing the song] into a conspiracy theory. We literally just wrote a song backstage, and it ended up becoming something awesome. It wasn’t a career move that I carefully planned out.”

Then in November 2015, the Latina songstress took to Twitter to address the rumors once again.

Back in September that year, Cabello opened up to Latina about the future of the girl group and hinted that they would not be together forever. She even admitted that 5H is just a manufactured pop band. Cabello’s controversial statement ignited the split rumors even more than usual.

“We’d be lying if we all said this is a picture-perfect thing, like we all completely agreed on the album track list and what the sound and the music video treatment would be like, which usually happens in bands who grew up together. But for manufactured bands, it’s harder.”

Earlier this year, Fifth Harmony was asked by Entertainment Tonight if they would ever stick around to drop their third studio album. Camila’s fellow member Normani Kordei seemed hopeful, adding that “We can’t predict the future but we most definitely think that there will be,” meaning a third album.

The ladies should stick together for now, since it’s working in their favor. 5H’s new album, 7/27, has been topping the music charts. As of Tuesday, May 31, they are headed for a strong top five debut on next week’s Billboard 200 chart, according to the industry insiders.
