‘WWE NXT’ Spoiler-Free Preview: June 1 — Build-Up For ‘TakeOver: The End’

NXT TakeOver: The End is just one week away, and WWE NXT will address each of the four matches booked for TakeOver on this week’s episode on the WWE Network. Corey Graves (who is rumored to be on his way to one of the main roster announce teams when the WWE brand-split is put into place) will interview the men regarding next week’s main event, NXT Champion Samoa Joe and former champ Finn Bálor. It will be their last face-to-face encounter before The End, which many assume will be the final match between Joe and Balor under the NXT brand.

Additionally, NXT Women’s Champion Asuka will be joined by No. 1 contender Nia Jax for a contract signing with William Regal. If WWE history has taught fans anything, it’s that contract signings almost always lead to something more. The Revival are in action as a warm-up to their NXT Tag Team Championship match, demonstrating how fast the tag division is heating up in Orlando. Promoting the only non-title match booked for TakeOver, Austin Aries sees in-ring action to remind everyone of his match against the King of Strong Style, Shinsuke Nakamura.

WWE continues to undersell their weekly WWE NXT offerings in their official NXT preview by only promoting one segment of the show from the hottest brand in professional wrestling. But as usual, every level of NXT competition is represented this week, including the women’s division and tag team division, along with singles competition for the men.

Note: While the following matches haven’t been listed at WWE’s website, they have been posted in a spoiler report at Wrestling Inc. An updated NXT TakeOver: The End card follows the preview for this week’s show.

Spoiler-free match list — June 1

The matches for this week’s episode of WWE NXT were taped at Full Sail University in Orlando, Florida, on Thursday, May 19.
