New Animal Planet Series ‘Lone Star Law’ Features Texas Game Wardens

Since 1895, Texas game wardens have provided professional law enforcement, water safety, and search and rescue services while working to conserve and protect the natural resources. As the saying goes, everything is bigger in Texas, including the tough jobs these game wardens face every day. The elite Lone Star Law patrol force is responsible for overseeing more than a quarter-million square miles of desert, lakes, piney woods, bayous, plains, and coastal areas.

The wardens of Lone Star Law do so much more than make sure fishing and hunting licenses are in order. These wardens must be ready at a moment’s notice to respond to dangerous situations that often affect both people and animals. Lone Star Law follows the wardens on a myriad of calls, from investigating large-scale poaching operations along the Gulf of Mexico to saving victims from flash floods. Viewers will get a real sense of all the good the Lone Star Law wardens do as they observe them working ongoing investigations, executing undercover stings, and striving to protect the people, fish, and wildlife in the big state of Texas.

According to TV Mole, viewers will have unprecedented access to the more than 500 agents of Texas Parks and Wildlife as Lone Star Law follows the wardens as they are called out to stop and apprehend anyone who commits crimes against nature. Lone Star Law captures some of the more than 60,000 arrests that are made by the wardens each year. A sneak-peek preview of Lone Star Law reveals that that even though the wardens deal with potentially dangerous humans and animals on a daily basis, they view what they do as not just a job, but a way of life.

Some of the game wardens featured during the first season of Lone Star Law walked the red carpet at an early showing of the new series earlier this year. According to a preview clip, viewers of the show will get to know the wardens as Lone Star Law will also focus on who the wardens are and the vital work that they do.

Aaron Sims is one of the Lone Star Law game wardens, and he was filmed up in the Texas panhandle. He and his wife, Caitlin, recently welcomed a baby girl into their family. Other wardens featured on Lone Star Law will include Brandt Bernstein, Jimmy Lindsey, Steve Stapleton, Patricia Vannoy, and Randolph McGee. The clip goes on to reveal that besides the vital work that the wardens do every day, Lone Star Law will also focus on who these wardens are and what drives them to make a difference in so many lives.

“They’re out there literally every day patrolling our lands and waters, protecting our fish and game, our property, our lives, our environment,” said Carter Smith, executive director of Texas Parks and Wildlife Department. “Theirs is a story worth telling.”

When disasters strike, the instinct of many is to run the other way, but these wardens willingly face certain danger at any time in order to save lives. Texas Parks and Wildlife recently posted to their Facebook page on May 27 that due to recent flooding, game wardens had rescued 35 individuals, 12 pets, and performed 68 flood evacuations in several Texas counties. Nearly three dozen game wardens, including four game warden swift water operators, were deployed in areas affected the hardest during the storm. Their quick action undoubtedly saved many lives from the swirling flood waters.
