Missing Teen’s Body Reportedly Found Under Sink In Abandoned Apartment

A missing Texas teen has possibly been found under horrifying circumstances that are shocking folks on social media and through the mainstream news. CBS News reports that the presumed remains of 15-year-old Karen Perez were located under a kitchen sink inside an abandoned apartment next to South Houston High School.

Details are still coming through media reports as this case develops, but so far, the information that has been published is downright shocking, especially with the arrest of a suspect. Authorities have confirmed that they have arrested a juvenile who is facing murder charges at this time. However, details surrounding the identity of this juvenile are unknown.

News Fix reports that the 15-year-old missing teen was last seen walking home from South Houston High School, where she was a student. It was Friday, and she was reportedly supposed to be going to see her boyfriend. The circumstances surrounding her disappearance aren’t entirely clear, but a missing person report was filed for Karen Perez soon after she vanished.

She was reportedly last seen wearing white pants and a black-and-white shirt. Surveillance footage has been released showing the missing teen walking into a restaurant just a couple of blocks from where her body was later found. Very few details about her appearance were made available at the time of her disappearance, but several photos of her have been published since the gruesome discovery of her body.

According to Texas EquuSearch, she had been missing since May 27, meaning the search for her concluded after approximately four days. Tim Miller of Texas EquuSearch confirmed that her body has been discovered, but authorities in Texas have yet to make a positive identification for official purposes. Furthermore, police have not commented on any possible cause of death.

Tim Miller confirms that he is the one who notified the family on Monday that the body of their missing daughter was found. He also claims that the apartments were initially searched during the push to find Karen Perez, but he doesn’t feel that they were searched thoroughly enough. According to the Texas EquuSearch founder, approximately 25 apartments were searched at the abandoned complex, but there is a total of 200 apartments on the property.

“There was some information leading to the apartment complex here. We searched it earlier in the day, and had the school district search it too. I don’t want to slander anybody, but we searched 25 units, and there are 200 units. It proves it wasn’t searched the way it should’ve been searched yesterday afternoon.”

Social media has reacted to this case with collective shock as mainstream media personalities take to Twitter and Facebook to keep the public updated on developments. Pictures of the abandoned apartments, where her body was found stuffed under a kitchen sink, are also circulating on social media.

Even though authorities in Houston haven’t commented on a cause of death in the missing teen’s case, Tim Miller believes that she was definitely a victim of foul play. This only complements the reports that a juvenile has been arrested on murder charges pending against him. Hopefully, the loved ones of Karen Perez can find closure and justice while dealing with the loss of the 15-year-old teen.
