Kaley Cuoco Slams Cincinnati Zoo For Killing Gorilla ‘Holding Boy’s Hand’

Kaley Cuoco has spoken out about the Cincinnati Zoo’s decision to kill a gorilla named Harambe after fearing that he would hurt a child who fell into his enclosure. According to People Magazine, Kaley Cuoco took to Instagram after learning about what happened at the Cincinnati Zoo over the weekend and defended the gorilla, slamming zoo officials for “not using their brains.”

In case you haven’t heard by now, a 4-year-old boy tumbled into Harambe’s habitat, falling 15 feet while his mom wasn’t paying attention. The gorilla picked up the child and reportedly dragged him around. Although it is unclear if the child was being hurt by the gorilla, some onlookers recall the child being treated like a “Raggedy Ann doll.”

Others, however, watched the footage of the child with Harambe and said that it appeared as though the gorilla was protecting the child and, at one point, even holding his hand. The fact that the zoo decided to shoot the gorilla dead to keep the child safe without trying to figure something else out or save both lives has completely outraged animal rights activists and animal lovers — like Cuoco.

Kaley Cuoco, who stars on The Big Bang Theory, posted the following message along with a picture of the now-dead gorilla.

“RIP #Harambe. I’m sure I will get tons of backlash (per usual) I mean let’s be honest, I wear the wrong sweatpants and the entire world has something to say about it, but once again, another senseless horrendous animal being killed over people not using their brains. If you watch the footage, you see this gorgeous animal holding that child’s hand. Do with that, what you will. As sad as this makes me, a part of me is happy for that amazing creature doesn’t have to live in captivity another day. Bring on the hate!!!”

Kaley Cuoco is receiving a lot of support this week for her comments on the Cincinnati Zoo situation. However, there are plenty of people who disagree with her and feel as though zoo officials did what they needed to do to keep the young boy safe.

“They made the absolutely right decision. This was just a perfect storm of bad situations that ended in tragedy,” said communications director for Zoo Miami, Ron Magill.

Kaley Cuoco certainly isn’t the only celebrity who is outraged by this story.

This isn’t the first time that Kaley Cuoco has voiced her opinion when it comes to animal rights, either. As previously reported by the Inquisitr, Kaley Cuoco was very angry after lions were killed at a zoo in Santiago, Chile. Cuoco took to social media to express her feelings on that situation, calling humanity “a joke.”

Do you think Kaley Cuoco is right about Harambe the gorilla? Should zoo officials tried to do something else before shooting and killing the gorilla?
