Whoopi Goldberg Introduces TV Series About Transgender Models, Says Bible Doesn’t Condemn Divorce

Whoopi Goldberg is set to executive produce Strut, a new series on Oxygen about transgender models, according to the Hollywood Reporter. The View co-host will debut the new show later this year.

It was announced last week that Whoopi Goldberg will executive produce the series about a group of models struggling in the fashion industry and breaking down gender and beauty stereotypes.

The models that will play their parts in Strut are part of Slay Model Management, which is the world’s first modeling agency that hires only transgender models. In her statement, Whoopi Goldberg explained the importance of the upcoming series.

“This show is important right now, because for all of the positive advances the community has made and continues to make, transgender is still a hot-button word that gets people hysterical.”

Whoopi Goldberg complained that people don’t spend enough time getting to know the personality and jump to conclusions about transgender people based on stereotypes, which is why Strut will provide “a unique opportunity” for TV viewers to spend time with “real people” who make their way through the world, just like all people do.

In fact, Whoopi Goldberg noted that while watching Strut, viewers may even realize that they have been interacting with transgender people in ways they didn’t even think were possible. The boss of Oxygen Media’s programming and development, Rod Aissa, said in a statement that the new series will be centered around a group of “inspiring and resilient” models who want to change the fashion world as well as the world as a whole. All they’re going to do is be true to themselves.

“These individuals will empower viewers as they live their lives fully and unapologetically, despite facing many obstacles throughout their journey.”

Both Whoopi Goldberg and Tom Leonardis will executive produce Strut, while One Hoe Productions is set to produce the new series. 44 Blue Productions, meanwhile, will co-produce and their Bobby Sizemore and Stephanie Noonan Drachkovitch are set to executive produce.

But the unscripted series, which Whoopi Goldberg so proudly executive produces, is nothing new for the TV world since the subject of transgender people’s struggles in the modern world has been quite a trend on TV for several years now. The most notable example of a transgender breaking barriers on TV is Laverne Cox and her outstanding performance on Orange Is the New Black.

It looks like Whoopi Goldberg is not against divorce and she says that “nowhere in the Bible” does it say that Christian people cannot divorce one another, according to Breitbart. The 60-year-old The View co-host said divorce is a good and important option for many people.

Speaking on ABC’s The View this month, Whoopi Goldberg was more than certain that God didn’t say anything whatsoever about divorce. In fact, the legendary actress admitted that she lives by the “Ten Commandments” instead of twelve, and added that none of them say anything about divorce, let alone outlaw it.

But it appears that Whoopi Goldberg doesn’t recognize Matthew, Mark or Luke’s gospel accounts, which says that God taught that “whoever divorces his wife and marries another commits adultery against her.”

“I live by the Ten Commandments. Those are the words of God and, to me, that – that doesn’t cover divorce.”

In fact, Whoopi Goldberg’s opinion about divorce was supported by all of the co-hosts expect one – Sunny Hostin – who was even called “crazy” by her fellow hosts. Hostin said that she believes every Christian who gets married should know that “divorce is not an option.”

Even though Whoopi Goldberg and fellow co-hosts attacked Hostin with all kinds of remarks, she defended her opinion, saying that Christians shouldn’t marry in the first place if they don’t consider marriage as “a permanent union” formed by God.
