Gwen Stefani And Blake Shelton Engagement: She Wants Her Kids With Gavin Rossdale On Board

Are Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton ready to get engaged? Since their relationship began last year on the set of The Voice Season 9, Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton have faced rumors of an engagement, pregnancies, and even plans to wed, but according to the latest reports, Stefani isn’t quite ready to make things official with her country singer boyfriend.

Although Gwen Stefani and Shelton appear to be quite in love, the 46-year-old singer doesn’t want to say “yes” to Shelton until her three children, Kingston, Zuma, and Apollo, are completely on board with becoming family.

“[Gwen] definitely tells her kids what’s going on and runs things by them all the time,” a source told Hollywood Life on May 29. “She wants their wellbeing accounted for, and if and when she goes through another marriage, she wants the kids to be on board. They really like Blake, but she definitely wants to make sure they’re okay, since the divorce is still very fresh for the kids.”

Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton went public with their romance in November of last year just three months after she and ex-husband Gavin Rossdale announced they were parting ways. Shelton was also newly single, having split from ex-wife Miranda Lambert four months prior.

While there has been no confirmation of a Shelton proposal at this point, a source days ago claimed he recently asked Stefani to marry him, but she did not accept.

“Gwen was very touched, but said she had to wait to make sure it was right for the kids,” an insider told Radar Online last week.

According to the report, Shelton proposed to Stefani at her home in Los Angeles with a stunning $1.2 million Tiffany diamond engagement ring, but rather than take the next step, Stefani’s reservations about her kids and the age difference between them (Shelton is 39 years old) reportedly got in the way.

“Gwen fears their age will get in the way of long-term happiness,” said a source. “She’s 14 years older than Blake’s ex-wife, Miranda Lambert!”

Stefani also appears to have trust issues, which stem from her ex-husband’s alleged infidelity.

“Gwen wants to trust Blake, but she fears it could come back and bite her,” claimed the insider, and Stefani “believes the time may have passed for her to have another baby… She’s worried Blake won’t be happy in a marriage where he might never be a father.”

Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton haven’t yet spoken of the idea of welcoming a child together, but because Shelton has no children of his own, he may want to pursue a family of his own in the future.

As for Rossdale, Gwen Stefani reportedly met with her ex recently to discuss the role Shelton is playing in their children’s lives.

“Gwen had a meeting with Gavin to discuss her relationship with Blake and how it will affect the children going forward,” an insider explained to Us Weekly. “[Gavin] wants to be consulted on everything concerning the kids and the role that Blake is playing in their lives.”

Meanwhile, added a source close to Shelton, “[Blake] has nothing to do with Gavin. He can’t forgive someone who treated his lady that way.”

Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton have been open with their relationship since its start, often share photos of one another, and support each other’s music online. However, they have not discussed their plans for an engagement.
