Johnny Depp And Amber Heard’s Marriage Was Doomed From The Start — All The Reasons Behind Their Split

Johnny Depp and Amber Heard’s divorce after a little over a year of marriage shocked many fans. Despite the surprise announcement, their marriage may have been doomed from the start.

According to Radar Online, Depp and Heard had been separated for months prior to the divorce announcement. The two had even been sleeping in different beds since October.

“Johnny and Amber were at odds with each other because she wanted a baby, but he didn’t want to be an old dad,” a source explained.

Despite Depp’s reservations about having another baby, he did make an attempt to appease Heard.

“Johnny was slightly open to the idea of adopting a kid that’s 8 or 9, but Amber wants a child that’s hers,” the insider continued.

While Heard’s desire to have a baby certainly drove a wedge in their relationship, there were other reasons why the two filed divorce papers on May 22 in an L.A. court.

What other reasons factored into their split?

An inside source revealed to Radar Online that Depp had a difficult time convincing Heard to marry him.

“It took Amber a long time to say yes,” the insider shared. “Johnny had asked her many times, and she kept saying no.”

While Heard eventually agreed to the marriage, she wasn’t wholeheartedly in the relationship from the start. Apparently, even outsiders noticed the fractures that started to appear in their marriage.

“It just didn’t seem like Amber’s heart was in it for the right reasons. When she met him, it seemed like she had an agenda,” the source added. “Amber never wanted to spend time with him. She chose to hang out with her hipper and younger friends and would leave him alone for days on end. Of course, this would bother him.”

According to the Telegraph, Depp believed that Heard agreed to marry him for selfish reasons. Not only did she use Depp to advance her career, but she also fed off the Hollywood glamour associated with Depp.

“Their relationship turned sour almost immediately,” a source said. “She’s really young and affected by the industry and ‘the scene’ at times. Don’t get me wrong; she’s a cool chick, but Johnny doesn’t tolerate that.”

To complicate matters, Johnny Depp was also unhappy with Heard’s continued relationship with Tasya van Ree. Heard came out as bisexual back in 2010 and kept in contact with her former girlfriend, as well as other lesbian friends.

Hollywood Life is reporting that Heard’s bisexuality may have played a large role in the divorce.

In addition to her ongoing friendship with Ree, Heard also hit it off with iO Tillet Wright, a well-known LGBTQ activist. Depp disliked Wright and was reportedly unhappy with the amount of time Heard spent with her.

Eventually, Depp started to make Heard travel with him wherever he went. As a consequence, Heard “started distancing herself from her lesbian friends.”

Heard has also accused Depp of physical abuse throughout the marriage and claims he hurled an iPhone at her the day before she filed for divorce. He denies it, and TMZ is reporting that their bodyguards back up Depp.

In light of all the rumors surrounding their breakup, Depp hopes that the issue will be resolved in a timely manner, especially considering his recent tragedy.

“Given the brevity of this marriage and the most recent and tragic loss of his mother, Johnny will not respond to any of the salacious false stories, gossip, misinformation and lies about his personal life,” Depp shared in a statement.

Depp lost his mother three days before Heard filed for divorce. Heard and Depp’s mother had issues of their own and reportedly did not get along.

Unfortunately for Depp, he and Heard did not sign a prenuptial agreement. There is a strong possibility that if Heard requests spousal support, then Depp might have to dish out some $30 million.
