Petition Demands That Apple Fire Siri and Hire Minority Assistant For Your iPhone And iPad

Apple’s digital assistant Siri should be fired and replaced by a minority. At least that’s what a new petition at Change.org calls for; the mission statement condemning Apple and Siri is clearly stated.

“By using a white assistant with a white accent, Apple is proving how white privilege rules the tech industry. Apple needs to diversify their products. Siri should be replaced by an African American or Hispanic assistant. “

Some of the almost 60 people who have signed the petition so far are angry with Apple.

“Cultural diversity is important. Shame on you, Apple,” claims Randy Groaling of Anaheim, California.

“Racism is a huge problem and Apple is only encouraging it,” states Aaron Lopez of Yuma, Arizona.

However, some people who’ve signed the petition about Siri are either angry that such a petition exists or think it’s just a “troll” petition aimed to rile people up.

“Oh, please. This has obviously been started by some race hustler looking to troll. There are more important things to worry about,” says Brian Palma of Santa Ana, California.

“This petition has to be a joke. It’s an insult to people who are truly trying to fight inequality in this country,” claims Bernie O’Connor of Kent, Ohio.

Race petitions have become all the rage at Change.org, as they certainly gain attention in the media, even if not everybody agrees with them. As Inquisitr reported in December, more than 200 have signed a petition directed at Billboard and Barack Obama that asks Adele to recognize her white privilege. The mission statement was divisive.

“Adele sold over 3.38 million copies of her album 25 and the media is praising her as if Adele’s success has everything to do with talent. Rather, it’s her white privilege that has put her on top. Adele’s album has sold more than albums from Beyoncé, Rihanna, and Janet Jackson, although these three beautiful ladies all had much better albums that were talked about more.”

The petition goes on to note that Adele has sold more than recent albums by Beyoncé, Rihanna, and Janet Jackson, while also stating the albums by the aforementioned artists are supposedly better. The mission statement of the petition also says that the fawning over Adele by fans and the press continues to show how minorities are allegedly repressed in the music business.

National Review had a very sarcastic response to the petition.

“It’s not clear why exactly the petition is also addressed to President Obama — perhaps Ms. Jones is outraged that the leader of the free world hasn’t pushed the less important issues like ISIS aside to deal with the more serious ones like a singer’s being white and successful at the same time.”

There have been many accusations made at Change.org stating their petitions can easily be manipulated and one person, with the right software, can sign multiple times. The possible manipulation came up when Prince fans signed a petition demanding that Madonna not be the only performer playing tribute to Prince at the 2016 Billboard Music Awards.

However, Change.org vehemently denied that their petitions could be manipulated in an email.

“Our team dedicates significant resources to span detection and protection. We guard against spam though an automated tool that verifies the authenticity of all users’ email addresses, and we also have an extensive set of automated tracking systems and teams dedicated to monitoring our petitions for irregular signature activity.”
