Fans can watch the Nigeria vs. Luxembourg football match live online and see which team comes out on top in their first-ever meeting.

The teams will meet Tuesday in Stade Josy Barthel in Luxembourg, with the start time at 6 p.m. local time (4 p.m. GMT).

For Nigeria, the match is a chance to build off the momentum from their win over Mali last week as they grow closer to 2018 World Cup qualifying matches. Nigeria looked sharp in Friday’s 1-0 win over Mali, with Kelechi Iheanacho coming off the bench and notching the game-winning goal in the 77th minute.

Luxembourg is also looking for their first win the last three matches, with their own World Cup qualifying matches coming in September, Goal.com noted.

Nigeria is looking to finish their international friendly road trip on a strong note, however.

“We are set for the game and we hope to continue from where we stopped against Mali,” assistant coach Kennedy Boboye told Goal.com. “Before leaving Nigeria, we planned to win both games and having secure victory against the Malians, we hope to complete the job against Luxembourg.”

Nigeria will be looking to Kelechi Iheanacho to start after leading his team in last week’s win over Mali. He came off the bench strong in Friday’s win, helping his team to their first international win in the last five matches. It was also only the third loss for Mali in their last 11 international matches.

The team is also looking for some stability from the bench, with interim coach Salisu Yusuf looking like he might be the full-time replacement for Sunday Oliseh. As FourFourTwo noted, the Nigeria Football Federation is looking to make a permanent choice soon and Yusuf looks like a strong bet.

“We are not going to wait for long before we choose a substantive coach for the Super Eagles. Already we have coaches that are on trial,” NFF chairman Chris Green told Vanguard (via FourFourTwo). “We are currently looking at what they possess and the philosophy they are going to bring into the game.”If they come up with qualities and a philosophy that will satisfy us, of course they will remain, but if they fail to satisfy us after the two friendly matches, we may not discard them, they will remain with the Super Eagles to understudy others.

“I would not say that we have restricted the Super Eagles coaching job to either foreign or home-based coaches; it is going to be an all comers’ affair. We have received so many applications and when the time comes we will open them.”

Fans who watch the Nigeria vs. Luxembourg football match live online will also see a Nigerian team that could be embroiled in a bit of controversy. There were reports that the team could not exchange jerseys with Mali players after Friday’s win as they didn’t have enough “wash and wear” jerseys on hand.

But team officials shot down those reports, saying there is no tension on the team and no financial or organizational problems.

“We have received calls from Nigeria that people are happy about the performance of this young team against Mali. Most people believe that we are on to a good thing with this crop of players but someone is only interested in spewing falsehood to try and embarrass the nation,” said team administrator Dayo Enebi Achor (via the Premium Times).

“We use new jerseys for every match, and we exchange jerseys when it is necessary. The jerseys belong to the players and they are free to do whatever they want with them after these two matches.”
