Vicki Gunvalson Keeps Bringing Up The Past: Will This Prevent A Happy Future?

Vicki Gunvalson had a rough year last year. She lost her mother while filming The Real Housewives of Orange County, which she found out about during a phone call while filming a scene at Shannon Beador’s house.

Sadly, dealing with her mother’s death was just the beginning of the downward spiral for Gunvalson. During the season, she kept talking about how her boyfriend, Brooks Ayers, was struggling with cancer. Apparently, he was going to the hospital for his appointments, was throwing up from the chemotherapy treatments, and had plenty of documentation to show for it. And Gunvalson believed him — why would she need to question him?

According to a new Facebook post, Vicki Gunvalson is now revealing that she’s trying to move on from the cancer scandal that plagued her last season. Vicki’s Real Housewives of Orange County co-stars learned that he had faked his cancer records, and they strongly believed that he had also faked his entire illness. Gunvalson didn’t really know what to make of it all, and she kept defending him and her own knowledge for months. These days, Vicki has moved on romantically, as she’s now dating a man named Steve Lodge. But based on her updates on social media, she can’t stop talking about the past — even during romantic dates.

“Date night with Briana and Steve. Final party all done. This is what’s important to me. My family and people who love and believe in me. #MovingOn #ThePastIsThePast #Forgiveness,” Vicki Gunvalson revealed on Facebook last night, sharing a picture of herself with Steve on a date.

Of course, Vicki Gunvalson and Brooks Ayers both want the past to be in the past. Apparently, Gunvalson doesn’t want anything to do with Ayers anymore, and he has moved to Florida to start completely over. He doesn’t want anything to do with the show. It has been months since they broke things off completely, though Vicki’s daughter, Briana, recently learned that her mother has been contacting him behind her back, as fans will see on the upcoming season of The Real Housewives of Orange County. Maybe she is moving too fast with this new man.

“Happy for you but stop hash tagging your past and rehashing up the old in little ways, really let it go by not brining it up anymore, much love,” one person wrote to Vicki, sharing that the only reason why the past keeps coming up is because she brings it up.

Another fan added, “Im happy for you vicki but kinda seems quick rebound you barely had time to recover from what brooks did to you. get to know someone a long time before you let them into your family you had alot of repairing to do with your daughter. there are a lot of people out there who walk among us that are just as unscrupulous aa brooks! Just a thought.”

But Gunvalson can be happy about something: Briana approves of this new man, as they have already hung out several times.

“I am soooo happy Briana approves…..what a great life!” one fan wrote, while another added, “The quickest way to move forward in life, is to move forward with life! She absolutely needs this man in her life!”

A third pointed out, “You look great Vicki! You two make a great looking couple. Wishing you lots of happiness together!”

According to Us Weekly, Vicki’s new man is Steve Lodge, and he is a retired police officer. He still works as a consultant at a public affairs firm in Anaheim, California. He has previously served as a top homicide detective and even worked as a paratrooper in the United States Army. Hopefully, he’s the one for Vicki.

Do you think Vicki Gunvalson should stop bringing up the past in her social media updates? Why do you think she keeps doing it?
