All-NBA First Team Announced, Led By LeBron James, Stephen Curry, And Russell Westbrook


The National Basketball Association has just released the All-NBA First Team. The All-NBA team is an honor bestowed on the best players in the league following the end of the regular season. According to ESPN, this year’s first team is led by two-time MVP Stephen Curry. He was an unanimous selection for the first team. The Golden State Warriors star is joined by LeBron James from the Cleveland Cavaliers, Russell Westbrook from the Oklahoma City Thunder, Kawhi Leonard of the San Antonio Spurs, and center DeAndre Jordan of the Los Angeles Clippers.

Two-time MVP Stephen Curry is the headline of the All-NBA First Team. Curry helped lead the Golden State Warriors to a 73-9 regular season record. It is the most wins in National Basketball Association history. He led the league in scoring with 30.1 points per game. Curry is also averaging 6.7 assists, 5.4 rebounds, and two steals. The MVP also set an NBA record for three pointers made. Curry is the NBA’s scoring champion and steals leader.

LeBron James has been selected to his 10th All-NBA First Team in his 13-year career. He joins Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Elgin Baylor, Bob Cousy, Tim Duncan, Michael Jordan, Bob Pettit, and Jerry West. That is tied for the second most selection in National Basketball Association history. James has built an amazing resume since joining the league. He has won the NBA Most Valuable Player award four times. The All-Star won two championships. James won the NBA Finals MVP award twice. He averaged 25.3 points, 6.8 assists, 7.4 rebounds, and 1.4 steals a game.

Russell Westbrook is one of the most dynamic guards in the National Basketball Association. This is the first time in his career he has been selected to the All-NBA First Team. This season, Westbrook is averaging 23.5 points, 10.4 assists, 7.8 rebounds, and two steals. He joins Oscar Robertson as the only player in NBA history to average 23 points, 10 assists, and seven rebounds. Westbrook recorded 18 triple-doubles. That equals the most in the league since Magic Johnson.

Kawhi Leonard is one of the best two-way players in the entire National Basketball Association. He has plenty of firsts this season. The former San Diego State Aztecs star has been selected to his first All-NBA First Team. He was selected to his first All-Star game. Leonard has won back-to-back Defensive Player of the Year Awards. He was also selected to the All-Defensive First Team. Leonard has won the championship once and also won the finals MVP in 2014. The All-Star helped lead the San Antonio Spurs to their best regular season win total in team history. He is on his way toward being one of the best player in the NBA.

DeAndre Jordan is one of the best centers in the National Basketball Association. He was selected to his first All-NBA First Team. Jordan has been selected to two All-Defensive First Team in the past two seasons. He led the league in field goal percentage with 70.3 percent for the fourth straight year. Jordan finished second in rebounds and blocks. He recorded 13.8 rebounds and 2.3 blocks per game. Jordan is tied in the NBA in double-doubles with 49.

This year’s All-NBA First Team has a couple of new faces. These guys are five of the best players in their respective positions. Stephen Curry and LeBron James highlight the first team. It might be safe to assume that we could see these guys for several years to come.
