‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: A Mystery Disappearance Sends Rippling Effects Through Port Charles [Spoilers]

General Hospital has pretty much wrapped up the month of sweeps. Several storylines were given new life, while others were thrown to the backburner not to be mentioned again. This week is going to chaotic in Port Charles, especially with only four new episodes airing due to the holiday. General Hospital will resume airing new shows on Tuesday, and the show for Monday will be an encore of a previously aired episode.

The biggest mystery for General Hospital fans has to do with Nikolas Cassadine (Tyler Christopher). It seems that he was either pushed or jumped from the castle window and then disappeared. A “temporary recast” for Christopher was announced just a few days ago, and this story might tie into that. There have been very few details given about why the recast was put into place, but rumors have been circulating that Christopher’s mother was ill. Seeing a new Nikolas on General Hospital won’t be easy for fans, but it will fit nicely into a plot for what the writers may have in mind. Was this staged, or did the General Hospital writers decide to leave an out for Christopher in case he needed one?

It looks like the mysterious circumstances surrounding what happened at the castle will get things cooking. According to We Love Soaps, there will be an investigation launched regarding what happened to Nikolas. Sam (Kelly Monaco) and Jason (Billy Miller) were at Wyndemere when it all happened, which of course makes Jason a suspect. The big guns will be called in to help when Damien Spinelli (Bradford Anderson) returns to Port Charles on June 6. He is brilliant at solving mysteries, which included helping people to know that Jason was “Jake Doe” when he arrived in Port Charles. This is going to be one General Hospital fans will want to follow along, especially with a fan-favorite set to return.

Things are going to pick back up with Dr. Finn (Michael Easton) and his mystery illness. General Hospital fans have been speculating about what he has been doing and why. It seems that Rachel (Rebecca Budig) will find the good doctor in dire straights, which will lead to some heavy questioning. When Carly (Laura Wright) finds out about what happened, she will be questioning her friend as well. Will she get to the bottom of what the doctor has been up to, or will it be another bunch of excuses given to hold General Hosptial fans at bay a little bit longer?

After what has seemed like weeks, General Hospital is going to pick up the storyline with Nathan (Ryan Paevey) and Maxie (Kirsten Storms). Claudette has been cast, and will reportedly be played by One Life to Live alum, Bree Williamson. This is going to cause a lot of complications between the engaged couple. It appears that a confession from Nathan is going to be coming by the end of the week, which means he is likely going to be discharged from the hospital. There are a lot of questions surrounding this storyline and where Claudette will fit in, and General Hospital fans worry that adding character after character could be compromising the show.

It will be a short week for General Hospital with the holiday, but it isn’t going to be any less dramatic. Things are going to start picking up, and that will be good for ratings going into the summer season. General Hospital still has a lot of life left in it, and with the spoilers being leaked, it looks like things are going to remain just as good as they have been for the last several months.
