Johnny Depp And Amber Heard: Stars Speak Out
Stars and celebrities have been sharing their two cents on what they think actually happened between Amber Heard and Johnny Depp. Amber recently got a restraining order against her husband Johnny, citing serious accusations of domestic abuse. Real trouble in paradise, or a larger-than-life fight that just got a little too real? No one knows for sure, but that hasn’t stopped every star, personality, and celebrity from sharing what they think really happened.

Amber showed up at a Los Angeles court on Friday, May 27. She filed for divorce and received a restraining order against her superstar husband, Depp, says ET Online. The 30-year-old starlet was adamant that things were not going well. Nonetheless, there is some doubt about the severity of her claims, especially in Hollywood circles.
Amber told sources that she is “extremely afraid of Johnny and for my safety.” The quote was from the Danish Girl star’s official declaration of events, which adds the weight of seriousness to the whole affair. Apparently, Johnny has had a long “history of drug and alcohol abuse,” which his wife of 15 months certainly had no way of knowing before the two got married. The alleged assault occurred on Amber’s birthday.

Since the huge announcement, fans and fellow celebrities alike have been drawing up battle lines on both sides. From a relatively neutral standpoint, The Walking Dead star Laurie Holden tweeted on Friday, “I, for one, am going to see Johnny Depp’s new movie.” The tweet starts off strong, and Laurie finishes with her own take on the situation. “His personal life is just that. Personal. No one knows the real truth so just zip it.”

Fair enough, and it seems that Laurie is channeling her infamously blunt and honest Walking Dead character in her statement.
Former star of The Office, Rainn Wilson, jumped on the bandwagon, taking sides early and deliberately. Rainn proclaimed that Johnny is a “wife beater,” and shared hashtags like #IStandWithAmber and #I’mWithAmber. The actress’ support on Twitter and other media has been trending, but like Laurie said, no one really knows what happened. Getting too involved too quickly could really cause a mess, especially with such sensitive issues. Best to let the courts and individuals who are actually involved handle it, rather than stir up the mob. Stirring up the mob, after all, rarely does anyone any good.
The 52-year-old Paul Bettany, who has known Johnny for longer than most, and worked with him intimately on several projects, was clearly supportive of his friend. According to US Magazine, Paul has worked with Johnny on several titles, including Mortdecai, Transcendence, and The Tourist. Bettany makes his position clear, saying, “I’ve known Johnny Depp for years and through several relationships.” Coming out strong with a clear indication that he knows Johnny well enough to have a say, Paul added. “He’s the sweetest, kindest, gentlest man that I’ve ever known. Just saying.”

After a hailstorm of criticism and anger, Paul followed up his tweet. “All I’m saying, domestic abuse is a serious allegation.” All too true, especially considering Depp’s long track record of relatively peaceful relationships and breakups, at least as far as Hollywood goes. Bettany pointed out the biggest issue with the whole situation and states that “trial by Twitter is unhelpful. Let the facts come out before rushing to judgement.”
All I'm saying-Domestic violence is a serious allegation. Trial by twitter is unhelpful. Let the facts come out before rushing to judgment

Rushing to judgement indeed, as it seems most people, celebrities included, are more prepared to be outraged than to find out what happened. Nonetheless, if domestic abuse was really involved, outrage really is the only fair reaction. The best fans of both Johnny and Amber can hope for is that the facts get out, and that the two can in some way make amends for whatever transpired between them. A peaceful solution is always the best.
To be clear: I am just saying DON'T JUMP TO CONCLUSIONS. Even a pic might not be telling the whole story….
