‘Teen Mom 2’ Jenelle Evans And Nathan Griffith Custody Battle For Baby Kaiser Comes To A Close

The battle between Jenelle Evans and Nathan Griffith of Teen Mom 2 for baby Kaiser is over. Jenelle Evans has received primary custody of 23-month-old Kaiser. International Business Times reports, after a two-month legal battle, Nathan and Jenelle did come to a “joint custody” agreement in order to give Nathan the right to see his son while Jenelle remained the primary custodial. Baby Kaiser will stay with his father, Nathan Griffith, every other weekend.

International Business Times also went on to report Jenelle’s attorney, Dustin Sullivan, confirmed the “joint custody” agreement made between Evans and Griffith. Both Jenelle and Nathan have signed the agreement, they are just waiting for a judge to sign off on it.

The battle between Jenelle and Nathan over baby Kaiser was discussed during Season 7, Episode 8 of Teen Mom 2. Jenelle told a friend she did not want to stop Nathan from spending time with their son, but if he decided he was going to fight her for custody of Kaiser, she would make it “the toughest battle.” During the same episode, Nathan was shown meeting with his attorney. His attorney was giving him advice on how he could go about getting temporary custody of the baby.

Some fans may be shocked to learn Jenelle and Nathan were able to come to an agreement in mediation considering how ugly the long and drawn out custody battle had gotten.

At one point in time, Jenelle claimed she was trying to file the custody papers, but she could not get Nathan to give her his current address, Us Weekly reported.

“If he’s going to have Kaiser for a weekend, I need to know where he is.”

Nathan Griffith had also taken to social media to accuse Evans of not letting him see their son. Jenelle, on the other hand, was insisting these claims are false. She had no intention of taking Kaiser away from Nathan. She just wanted to be the primary custodial.

It seems as though Jenelle got what she wanted and baby Kaiser will continue to have both parents in his life for now.

Despite this massive victory for Evans, her days with custody battles are not over. When it comes to Evans other child, Jace, her mother still has full custody of him. It was back in 2010 when Jenelle signed over custody rights of Jace to her mother, Barbara Evans. She has spent the last several months fighting to get Jace back. March was the last time Jenelle updated her Teen Mom 2 fans regarding the custody battle. She said there was a court hearing on May 3. She also said she was trying to get full custody of Jace. She has not shared any additional information about the custody battle for Jace since that update.

“I see Jace every weekend. There’s no reason why I shouldn’t have him full-time,” Jenelle told Us Weekly. “My mom hasn’t budged at all, so I’m just going to have to let the judge decide.”

Despite the fact that Jenelle claims she wants custody of Jace, she has recently made media headlines regarding Jace in a negative way. Enstarz reported that Evans was skipping Jace’s derby event because it was spring break. Jenelle does attempt to defend herself with pictures showing that she did everything she could for Jace’s derby, even though she did not actually go to the event, on Twitter.

Will Jenelle be able to get custody of Jace? Will a judge sign off on the agreement Jenelle and Nathan worked out with their attorneys? Is “spring break” a good enough reason to miss her son’s derby event? Tune in to Teen Mom 2 on MTV Mondays at 10 p.m. EDT to continue to follow Jenelle and her boys.
