Sarah Palin Nicknames Donald Trump A ‘Golden Wrecking Ball’ In San Diego

Sarah Palin made a surprise visit and introductory speech at Donald Trump’s San Diego rally on Friday, riling up supporters while also inadvertently giving Trump a derogatory new nickname: “Golden Wrecking Ball.”

Like Palin’s previous attempts at stumping for Trump (for example, when she used a “gift basket” metaphor for immigration reform, as reported by the Inquisitr), her speech on Friday was punctuated with bizarre phrases.

This time, Palin started by yelling “Suck it up, cupcake!” at mainstream media and political pundits, in an apparent gloat about Trump’s unpredicted success on the campaign trail.

The former governor of Alaska also made a frenzied ode to presumptive GOP presidential nominee Donald Trump, telling rally-goers that he is a “Golden Wrecking Ball.”

According to Raw Story, Palin said,

“Trump came roaring in through this primary, and he blew the lid off the corrupted and corroded machine. He was like a golden wrecking ball. He wrecked what needed to be wrecked in order to shine light on the shenanigans, in order to allow us to rebuild because, see, Trump builds things. He builds big things. And with optimism. And with common sense. He solves problems!”

Palin’s well-meant praise of Trump, however, was taken up the wrong way; her nickname for the GOP presumptive nominee, a “Golden Wrecking Ball,” was taken derogatorily by many.

The Daily Banter reports of Sarah Palin’s name for Trump as a “million dollar anti-Trump slogan,” saying it is “an entirely new way of cracking Trump”

“she [Palin] blew away every poll-tested attack line on Donald Trump with the simple three-word moniker ‘Golden Wrecking Ball.’ It’s […] just […] one perfectly-faceted thousand-karat diamond of a nickname [that] Palin [has] uncovered”

Sarah Palin, in yet another highly criticized attempt at stumping for Donald Trump, managed to create ammunition for those against Trump to use against him instead of garnering more support for him.

But that wasn’t all in the former Alaskan governor’s speech; Palin called Trump supporters “garden variety pissed-off Americans,” and even compared the state of the American union today to that of the slavery era.

She said, according to Blasting News,“If you prefer Jefferson’s dangerous freedom over peaceful slavery under a corrupt and overpowering government today, then you fight for that freedom, and you will Make America Great Again!”

Sarah Palin also used the event’s proximity to Memorial Day to rally Trump voters around his foreign policy and veteran support.

According to Breitbart, Palin created a picture of Donald Trump as having a strong, pro-war international stance, in keeping with her nickname for him as the “Golden Wrecking Ball”

“I want a president who inherently knows it weakens us showing up Memorial Day weekend even, no, instead of showing up somewhere to promise, ‘Hey, you mess with the innocent, you pick a fight with America, you steal our security, you spin on our freedom, we’ll put a boot in your a**; it’s the American way.'”

She continued, after summing up Trump’s foreign policy in the words “we’ll put a boot in your a**,” by comparing him to former president Ronald Reagan,

“It’s [Trump’s foreign policy is] just like Ronald Reagan’s. That’s it: We win. They lose. That is the Trump doctrine.”

From introducing Donald Trump as a “Golden Wrecking Ball,” to calling modern-day American government a type of slavery (a self-incriminating statement for Sarah Palin who has served numerous terms in city and state-level governments), to spelling out Trump’s foreign policy as “putting a boot in all enemies’ a**,” Palin’s speech was certainly news-worthy — even an audience-pleaser.

As Breitbart reports, “The crowd interspersed chants of ‘Trump’ and ‘USA’ during Palin’s speech.”
