Brian Westbrook is retiring.

After nine years in the NFL, Westbrook will be hanging up his Philadelphia Eagles jersey one last time.

USA Today reports that Westbrook will officially retire with the Philadelphia Eagles on Wednesday.

Eagles owner Jeffrey Lurie said in a statement:

“I will always remember Brian for the electrifying, game-changing plays he made during his great career in Philadelphia… He was one of those players you knew could score from anywhere on the field and one of the most exciting players I have ever watched. He was a great runner, receiver and returner and was certainly a fan favorite.”

Westbrook was picked in the third round from Villanova in 2002. He played eight years with the Philadelphia Eagles before heading to San Francisco for his final season in 2010. During his career, he rushed for 6,335 yards and scored 73 touchdowns.

According to Pro Football Talk, Westbrook is one of only six players to have more than 30 rushing and 30 passing touchdowns during his career. He also holds an Eagles record with 9,785 yards from scrimmage.

Westbrook was a two-time Pro Bowler and earned all-pro honors in 2007.
