WWE Rumors: Kevin Owens To Win ‘Money In The Bank’ Ladder Match As Huge Push Continues

WWE apparently has some very big plans in place for Kevin Owens as he has impressed everyone backstage, and that includes Vince McMahon. His in-ring performance and his work on the mic is getting him over with the fans and even more recognition. All of that is adding up to WWE putting together some huge plans for him, and it looks as if that is going to start at Money in the Bank as he’s set to win the multi-man ladder match.

Even though he lost the Intercontinental Title at WrestleMania 32 and in the Fatal 4-Way at Extreme Rules, Kevin Owens has been on a bit of a great streak lately. He got a big win over Sami Zayn at Payback and has been involved in key storylines for almost all of 2016 so far.

Now, he’s going to be in the Money in the Bank ladder match next month, and according to Cageside Seats, Owens is the current favorite to win the match and take ownership of the briefcase. Of course, that is just speculation, and anything is possible to happen, but it wouldn’t be shocking to see him win it.

As of this writing, WWE has only announced six of the seven participants in the match at Money in the Bank.

On Monday Night Raw, there were a number of participants who qualified for the MITB ladder match — Chris Jericho, Sami Zayn, Cesaro, Dean Ambrose, and Kevin Owens. As recapped by the WWE website, Alberto Del Rio defeated Zack Ryder last night on SmackDown to take another one of the spots.

There is still one spot open, and it could belong to anyone on the WWE roster, but that won’t be revealed until Monday Night Raw or SmackDown of next week. WWE has put a lot of top names into the ladder match, and Owens winning the briefcase over six other men, including two former world champions, would be a huge accomplishment.

Owens recently had an interview which was in an exclusive video posted on the official WWE website, and he spoke on defeating AJ Styles to qualify for the MITB ladder match. He spoke on that being only the beginning as 2016 is going to be his year and there is much more to come.

In the video, Owens went on to say that it is only a matter of time until he gets into the main event and takes the WWE World Heavyweight Title from Roman Reigns. He may have to change those plans if Seth Rollins captures the title from Reigns at Money in the Bank.

Chances are that Owens really doesn’t care who he has to take the WWE Title from as he plans on winning it no matter what.

A little over a year ago, Kevin Owens was brought up to WWE’s main roster and instantly got thrown into a great feud with John Cena. That feud included a clean victory over the face of the company, but he kind of faded into the background and only started to get back in the spotlight this year.

Now, he’s ready to move onto the next level.

It was originally thought that John Cena and Roman Reigns would battle it out over the WWE Title at SummerSlam, but that feud may have been moved to WrestleMania 33. Seth Rollins is facing off with Reigns, but that feud may only last through June and July.

Depending on which superstar holds the WWE Title come August, Kevin Owens may find himself looking for a big title feud or cashing in the MITB briefcase at SummerSlam.

Kevin Owens has accomplished a lot in his first year on the WWE main roster, and he’s well on his way to bigger and better things. While WWE does have certain big plans for him, it’s all because of how well he has done in the ring for the company. He’s shown how talented he is on the mic and in the ring, and the fans have latched onto him in every sense of the word. Vince McMahon has given his approval to Kevin Owens, and winning the Money in the Bank ladder match will prove that.
