Luann De Lesseps Wanted Sonja Morgan To Sit In On Conversation With Bethenny Frankel?
Luann de Lesseps can be quite the troublemaker on The Real Housewives of New York, as she likes to say things without necessarily thinking about it. Luann will be so convinced about something that she will argue with people about it. And this happened on this week’s episode of The Real Housewives of New York, as Luann kept arguing with Bethenny Frankel over who really came up with the Skinnygirl cocktail. While Bethenny thought of the concept and then shared the idea with Luann when they were out for drinks, Luann was convinced that she was one of the people who thought about it too.
According to a new Bravo report, Luann de Lesseps is now revealing that she wishes Sonja Morgan had been invited to the Berkshires. And maybe it’s because Sonja has had her own struggles with Bethenny over business and Luann wanted Sonja in her corner, as they fought it out. In her blog for the show, Luann de Lesseps calls Dorinda out for making a mistake — leaving Morgan back at home in New York.
“Did Dorinda make the right choice to exclude Sonja from her Berkshires sleepover? I don’t think so. Sonja’s feelings were hurt even though you see how gracious she was to Dorinda by agreeing to visit alone. Sonja hasn’t always surrounded herself with the best people, and I’m trying to mentor her into expecting more from the people in her life,” Luann de Lesseps reveals on her blog, revealing that she thought Dorinda should have given Sonja a second chance to prove herself.
Medley really didn’t think that the Berkshires would be the right place for Sonja because she’s struggled with her drinking. Before leaving for the trip, she sat her co-star down and explained that she was bringing all of the ladies to the Berkshires, including Luann de Lesseps, who was living with Sonja at the time the show was filming. While Morgan was calling herself the life of the party, Dorinda just wanted a relaxing getaway. Sadly, Luann de Lesseps and Bethenny got into it over dinner.
“Bethenny’s comment that it’s like the blind leading the deaf was rude. I like to have fun, but I also have good judgment when it comes to my friends,” Luann de Lesseps reveals, sharing that she just wants to hang out with positive people.
“I will not waste time with people who detract from my life; instead, I surround myself with people who make my life better. One of my best mentors said to me, ‘Get rid of the negative people in your life to make room for the good ones.’ These women are not behaving like Sonja’s friends. I don’t think Sonja will regret missing this trip when she sees what happens in the next episode,” Luann reveals, hinting that the drama will get completely out of control.
Of course, de Lesseps did say things that got under Bethenny’s skin. According to the Daily Mail, Luann claimed that both she and Bethenny had started Skinnygirl together, which clearly rattled Frankel. The conversation that Luann de Lesseps is referring to is actually caught on camera, and when Bethenny orders her Skinnygirl margarita, Luann asks what she’s referring to and gets one as well. There was no collaboration during that episode, but Luann may be right about one thing: she may have been the first Real Housewives of New York cast member to hear about Bethenny’s awesome product idea.
