‘Pretty Little Liars’ Season 7: Did Alison Kill Charlotte? Why Hanna Is Probably Still Alive And More ‘PLL’ Spoilers

Pretty Little Liars Season 7 premieres in just a few weeks. What can fans expect when PLL returns to Freeform? There are plenty of spoilers and theories going around, and one is particularly interesting. Is it possible that Alison DiLaurentis (Sasha Pieterse) is the one who really killed Charlotte (Vanessa Ray)? Also, find out why Hanna Marin (Ashley Benson) is probably alive.

Warning: Pretty Little Liars Season 7 spoilers are ahead.

Bustle uncovered a PLL Season 7 theory regarding who killed Charlotte. Coming from Tumblr user TheMarinaAlexis, it is speculated that Alison is the murderer. One reason cited is that Alison didn’t spend a whole lot of time grieving her sister’s death. Only a few episodes showed Alison going through the motions of someone who lost a loved one. Suddenly, the Pretty Little Liars character transitioned from grieving her sister to focusing on her lover, Dr. Elliot Rollins (Huw Collins).

By the end of the Season 6 finale of Pretty Little Liars, it was clear that Alison’s new husband and Mary Drake (Andrea Parker) were working together. However, there is confusion on how the two are connected. What is known is that Mary is the twin sister of Alison’s dead mother, Jessica DiLaurentis. Elliot and Mary worked together to drive Alison crazy, so how could the PLL character be guilty?

“When Ali is hiding in the church from what she thinks are the ghosts of her mother and Wilden, she tells Emily, I knew they wouldn’t follow me here. I deserve it. This is my punishment,” TheMartinaAlexis explained on Tumblr. “Why does Ali seem so guilty? Are we really supposed to believe that she’s still reeling with remorse over how she treated people back in high school? Based on her continued selfish behavior throughout the time jump, I find that unlikely. Maybe she’s professing so much strange guilt because she’s really Charlotte’s killer.”

As Bustle mentioned, Alison has a history of manipulating and controlling Aria (Lucy Hale), Hanna (Ashley Benson), Emily (Shay Mitchell) and Spencer (Troian Bellisario). Could this be another “game” that Ali is playing? Although PLL fans would love to believe that Alison has changed, TheMartinaAlexis and Bustle have good points. The Tumblr user lists a lot of reasons why Ali could be Charlotte’s killer on Pretty Little Liars.

As previously reported by The Inquisitr, the Pretty Little Liars Season 7 trailer was given the hashtag #SaveHanna. In the video clip, it implies that Hanna might be dead. However, it is more likely that Hanna Marin is alive, but the Liars are going to have to do some dirty deeds to get their friend back. When Spencer mentioned murder and Emily started panicking, it seemed as if they were required to kill. The only way they would do this is if Hanna’s kidnapper (known as “Uber A”) forced them to kill. Even if Hanna died, the Liars would not murder someone. This doesn’t seem to be an act of revenge, but one of desperation – something they have to do in order to get Hanna back alive.

PLL fans have speculated for a long time that one of the Liars must be the one responsible for everything. Some viewers even blame Melissa Hastings, Spencer’s sister. Actress Torrey Devitto recently spoke about the possibility of Melissa killing Charlotte.

“You never know,” Devitto told Entertainment Tonight regarding whether Melissa Hastings is guilty of murder. “I think, on this show especially, anything is possible.”

What do you think of the theory that Alison DiLaurentis killed her own sister? Did Ali really murder Charlotte and if so, why? Do you believe Hanna is dead or alive on Pretty Little Liars? What other speculations do you have about Aria, Spencer, Emily, and the other characters?
