Rap Battle: James Corden Takes On David Schwimmer, Both Slayed By Rebel Wilson

A rap battle between James Corden, David Schwimmer and Rebel Wilson left little doubt who has the winning chops.

Hosted by James “The Rappin’ Assassin” Corden on The Late, Late Show, Schwimmer took on Corden and the battle was on.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the rap battle between the Friends star and Corden was anything but friendly, and no topic was off-limits in the latest installment of the popular “Drop the Mic” skit.

Gotta give it to David “the MC who’s TV royalty” Schwimmer. He put aside his acting, took to the mic and attempted to insult the late night host in a rap battle that was not exactly one for the ages, but entertaining none-the-less.

With mic in hand, David rapped:

“I worked with a monkey who had more skills than you. The only people who watch your show are asleep or dead.”

The beloved sitcom actor, who just finished wowing audiences with his portrayal of Robert Kardashian in The People v. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story went on to rap his insults about Corden’s girth, Corden’s wife, and the performance even brought out the 49-year-old’s middle finger as he competed in the rap battle.

“You must be a masochist, you want to battle me. This won’t end well, mate, it’s not Love Actually.”

Corden took his turn at the mic and had his revenge by noting what he deemed was Schwimmer’s fleeting fame, rapping that “unlike this crowd, I’ll be there for you,” singing the beloved Friends theme song.

The two went at it in the rap battle and nothing it seems was off limits.

“Millennials, let me introduce you to this guy, his name was David, he was famous in ’95. He was a Kardashian on TV, but that was only for pretend. You played Robert and that’s a great combo, but you were so white you should have probably played the Bronco.”

And it sure didn’t stop there.

“Now you got the chance to prove you got balls, while I ignore you like Jennifer Aniston does your calls!”

Ouch!

Just as Schwimmer was about to be named the winner of the rap battle, Pitch Perfect star Rebel Wilson surprised the competitors when she took the stage to “show these dudes what they’re lacking.”

“I’m your biggest fan, when I was eight,” she rapped to a disappointed Schwimmer, who thought he had the rap battle wrapped up.

According to Entertainment Tonight, Rebel Wilson then turned her attention to rap battle host Corden:

“Carpool Karaoke, you think it’s your big thing, but everyone is thinking, ‘Shut up and let Adele sing!’ You speak English, but you can’t even rap, your rhymes are non-existent like my inner thigh gap!”

The rap battle with Schwimmer and Wilson came on the heels of another equally impressive battle on Tuesday between James Corden and Anne Hathaway.

The insults were just as harsh, with James taking a jab at Anne’s English accent in the movie One Day, her portrayal of Catwoman, “the only catwoman I only acknowledge is Halle Berry” and calls himself “the Drake of this battle and Anne is Meek Mills.” Plus he nails Anne with the epic line “call me Meryl Streep because you’re my assistant.”

Anne won the rap battle, however with quips like:

“I can’t make fun of you James because no one has heard of you…. your rhymes are like your ratings, they are incredibly weak.”

What do you think about James Corden’s rap battle skit? Do they go too far with the insults?
