Gwen Stefani Shares ‘Misery’ Teaser As Blake Shelton Makes Gavin Rossdale Miserable

Gwen Stefani’s ex-husband, Gavin Rossdale, allegedly isn’t happy that Gwen is letting their sons bond with Blake Shelton. However, Gwen can’t let her husband’s misery distract her too much right now; she has a new music video for “Misery” to hype.

A few of the songs on Gwen Stefani’s latest album, This Is What the Truth Feels Like, are about the demise of her marriage to Gavin Rossdale. However, “Misery” is not one of those songs.

“So put me out of my misery / Hurry up, come see me,” Gwen begs her new boyfriend in the upbeat love song about longing for someone. It’s not a breakup tune about missing someone forever; Gwen Stefani and her lover are very much together, and she knows that she’ll eventually get to spend time with the objection of her obsession.

Gwen Stefani has turned two other singles about her relationship with Blake Shelton — “Make Me Like You” and the couple’s “Go Ahead and Break My Heart” duet — into big hits, so it should come as no surprise that her next music video will be for another song about Blake. According to Popsugar, Gwen recently shared a teaser clip for the “Misery” video on her Instagram page. She’s glammed up like a 1940s goddess of the silver screen, but she gives her old Hollywood look a unique twist. If you look closely, you can see that the top of her dress is adorned with plastic “feathers” that appear to be made out of film stock.

Popsugar previously reported that the “Misery” music video would feature characters based on Gavin Rossdale and the nanny he allegedly cheated on Gwen with. However, no such characters appear in the clip above; it’s just Gwen, two dancers, a fainting couch, and an elevator.

Gwen Stefani is obviously ready to move on from her marriage to Gavin Rossdale, but it looks as though he’s not letting go. A source recently told E! News that Gavin wants Gwen to dump Blake Shelton and take him back.

“If it were up to Gavin he would want to work it out with Gwen,” the source revealed.

Gavin allegedly isn’t happy that Gwen Stefani found a rebound this time around. As Rolling Stone reports, one of their earlier splits was the inspiration for the 2000 tune “Ex-Girlfriend.” That breakup obviously didn’t stick.

“I find myself trying to change you / If you were meant to be my lover I wouldn’t have to,” Gwen laments in the song.

Gwen Stefani has admitted that her relationship with Gavin Rossdale was a rocky one.

“We go in and out of being really in love and ‘Oh, my God, I’ve gotta get out of this thing.’ It’s the hardest, hardest relationship to be in,” she said in 2000. “But we can’t help ourselves, so four years later we’re still trying to do it.”

Now Gwen Stefani and Gavin Rossdale are trying to co-parent after their divorce, and it’s proving to be just as difficult. Gavin reportedly doesn’t like that their sons – nine-year-old Kingston, seven-year-old Zuma, and two-year-old Apollo — are spending so much time with Blake.

“[Gavin] wants to be consulted on everything concerning the kids and the role that Blake is playing in their lives,” a source told Us Weekly.

Gavin reportedly convinced Gwen to meet with him so that they could “discuss her relationship with Blake and how it will affect the children going forward.” However, Blake Shelton has already formed a strong bond with the boys, and he doesn’t care what Gavin thinks.

“He can’t forgive someone who treated his lady that way,” the insider revealed.

Gavin Rossdale might be using his sons as an excuse to arrange heart-to-hearts with the ex-wife that he would love to win back, but there was a time when he didn’t consider Gwen mother material. As the Telegraph reported, he once said something very hurtful in response to a question about whether he wanted to start a family with Gwen.

“Well, you really do have to find the right person before you do that,” Gavin responded.

Gwen Stefani turned out to be the right person, but fans of Gwen might say Gavin should have thought of that before he kissed their marriage goodbye by cheating on her with the children’s nanny. Sixteen years after the release of “Ex-Girlfriend,” now he knows how his “gorgeously jealous kind of ex-girl” felt when she was fretting about seeing him “with the next girl.”
