Sarah Silverman Decides Charity Galas Are The Best Places To Talk About Semen And Abortion

Sarah Silverman has never been one to hold back on her material, no matter who might be in the audience. The comedian demonstrated just how raunchy her material can get when Silverman did her stand-up at a charity gala that reportedly had several middle school students in attendance. While there were plenty of gasps from the younger audience, reports are there was plenty of shock from the adults watching Silverman perform as well.

Sarah Silverman was one of many New York-based celebrities who had been called on to perform at the ArtsConnection 2016 Benefit Celebration, though it was only Silverman’s act that was considered “raunchy and outrageous.” According to Page Six, Silverman’s act included a wide-ranging set of topics such as vomit and semen, as well as jokes mentioning abortion, sexual assault, her dead dog, and sex with her current boyfriend, Michael Sheen.

In addition to being an event made to reward students from a well-known New York middle school, the gala was also honoring Lena Dunham and Amy Cappellazzo. Dunham especially is someone who is known for not being willing to hold back when it comes to her material. The fact that people were agog at the things Sarah Silverman was saying shows just how far she was willing to go to get some laughs and appall the audience.

Silverman’s act was even more surprising considering it kicked off with a low key and sweet performance by kids from MS 266 Park Place Community Middle School in Brooklyn and high school students from schools in the city, Edward R. Murrow and La Guardia. Guests who talked to the publication after the event said Silverman’s routine was rather raunchy, even for the school students who might typically have found her willingness to speak about these topics hilarious.

It’s possible even the students knew Silverman was laying down her act in a place where they expected a bit more self-censorship. Those who know Silverman well were likely not shocked at all that she was willing to let rip about all sorts of topics. Sarah Silverman is willing to talk about whatever she wants, whenever she wants, and she proved that yet again last Sunday night when she was giving a different performance at the Brooklyn Academy of Music.

It was here where Sarah Silverman decided she wanted to talk about her desire to legislate semen. According to the Daily Caller, one of the reasons Silverman believes this is a topic that needs discussion is because of the recent discovery that sperm cells have a sense of smell.

“Like I know sperm smells, but sperm cells have the sense of smell, and you know what that means: Sperm is life.” Silverman, who is a vocal Bernie Sanders supporter, said during her act. Silverman went on to say that if sperm is life, then we have to legislate it. The comedian went on to explain that since legislators want to regulate abortion, turnabout is fair play. Silverman reminded the audience that there all kinds of lawmakers who want to force women to look at their ultrasounds before they have their abortions.

“What we’ll do is — it’s a real simple procedure. We take a long needle-like GoPro camera and we put it down your penis hole, urethra, then down into your testicular sack,” Silverman continued. “We’re going to show you the ultrasound, so you can see the life in your balls.”

Silverman then played the same card the advocates of ultrasounds claim. Sarah Silverman told the high-class crowd that once they see this life, “no man will ever want to masturbate again.”
