Paul Ryan and Todd Akin should get together for a play date and discuss their support of rapists over women. Less than a week after Akin coined the term “legitimate rape” Paul Ryan referred to rape as a “method of conception.”

In a move sure to grab the female vote Ryan was speaking about the Todd Akin commentary when he opened up and said rape is in fact a valid “method of conception.”

Ryan started by proclaiming that he is “very proud” of his pro-life record and that the “method of conception doesn’t change the definition of life.”

Paul Ryan further notes that Mitt Romney differs with his own views in that incest and rape should be treated differently than women who attempt to receive an abortion after consensual sex. Regardless of his ability to distance himself from Romney it is likely that many women voters will be scared off by his matter of fact answer to the question that doesn’t address the harm rape has on women.

The mainstream media outlets have virtually ignored Ryan’s comment which comes at the same time in which the GOP are attempting to woo women voters who have largely turned against the organization en masse.

With abortion rights, access to birth control being fought tooth and nail and various other attacks against female voters this video interview couldn’t come at a worse time for the Republican Party.

Paul Ryan  is in fact correct, rape is a “method of conception” but the fact that he chose to focus on that part of the violent act instead of the effects it has on women should be a clear sign of trouble to come for the party as a whole. The GOP continues to spend millions of dollars in an attempt to lure women away from the birth control friendly, abortion supporting left.
