Don’t Worry, Tayvin Fans: Calvin Harris Is Doing Just Fine After Car Crash

Calvin Harris, whose real name is Adam Wiles, has been giving strict doctor’s orders after his scary car crash over the weekend. The Scottish DJ was hospitalized after a SUV that carried the 32-year-old crashed into a Volkswagen Beetle which was driven by a 16-year-old female driver.

Harris suffered a laceration on his face, a cut to the nose, and was rushed to a nearby hospital, but refused the emergency service, according to TMZ. The teenager was ejected from her vehicle for not wearing a seatbelt and was hospitalized for an injured pelvis. Harris has been given strict doctor’s orders and has canceled his upcoming performance at Omnia nightclub.

According to a statement on Calvin Harris’ Facebook page, he was eventually examined by physicians who advised him to rest for the next few days. In addition to his scheduled appearance at the Omnia nightclub at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas, he was also scheduled to perform at the Hangout Festival in Gulf Shores, Alabama, on Saturday, May 28, which has reportedly also been canceled but is up in the air at the moment. And as of right now, according to E! News, Harris is still scheduled to perform at Omnia nightclub this Friday, May 27.

Taylor Swift and Calvin Harris fans can rest a sigh of relief since the producer is ready to work as soon as this upcoming weekend.

An insider told E! News that “He is keeping an eye on his body and to make sure he is 100 per cent this week.”

One of the first people that Calvin contacted shortly after his accident was his longtime girlfriend, claims the source.

“He didn’t want to alarm her. She was very caring when they connected on the phone when it initially happened.”

And Hollywood Life exclusively confirmed that Taylor was frightened to receive the call from Calvin shortly after his accident, but she was happy to hear that he was ok. It’s any wonder if Calvin’s scary wreck will inspire his girlfriend to put her feelings into song like she did when she described Harry Styles’ scary snowmobile accident in her single, “Out of the Woods.”

Taylor Swift reciprocated her feelings by staying by his side all weekend long. She even skipped out on the 2016 Billboard Music Awards so that she could keep a close eye on him, claims another source.

“Taylor has told Calvin that she doesn’t want him doing anything for the next few days, and when she sees him she will be waiting on him hand and foot. Calvin doesn’t want a fuss made, but she’s not going to give him any choice in that matter. She will be catering to him for everything he needs, even if that includes driving him around or making him a cup of tea.

“She wants Calvin to make sure he really does take the time off needed to recover from the car crash because he’s always running at a hundred miles an hour and doesn’t know when to stop. Taylor will make sure, this time, that he puts his feet up and doesn’t lift a finger until he’s better.”

Meanwhile, Harris’ music has been taking over the music charts and airwaves yet again. His hot new single “This is What You Came For” (featuring Rihanna) reached No. 12 on last week’s Mediabase pop radio airplay chart, according to Headline Planet. It’s on track to reach the Top 10 this week. It currently sits at No. 20 on the building rhythmic chart and No. 43 on the building hot adult contemporary chart.

Additionally, the song racked up over 3,796 spins in between May 22 to 28. It went up from 27.6 percent last week, which has it at No. 10 on Mediabase’s building airplay chart. And with a song that’s predicted to become the song of the summer, Harris may want to recover quickly so he can actively promote it.
