In Case You Were Wondering, Katy Perry Is Definitely ‘Not Becky’

Katy Perry will probably always at on the top of the list of the best-dressed and most stylish celebrities. The Daily Mail reports that Katy Perry’s recent appearance at the Costume Institute Gala 2016 at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York saw her gliding down the red carpet wearing a flowing navy Prada gown with gold details and keys hanging from the high neckline.

The event saw Katy sporting a dramatic look, bleaching her eyebrows and wearing two striking black gowns and styling her hair in a towering beehive hairdo. Later, the glamorous singer was joined by her boyfriend, Orlando Bloom, and the pair attended a late-evening post-event after-party that was held in the Standard High Line. Katy Perry dazzled at the after-party by donning a low-cut gold and black dress that made her look stylish as always. Her after-party attire was complete with lace-up black boots with high heels.

Additionally, the singing sensation jokingly refuted any notion that she might be the mysterious “Becky” referred to on Beyonce’s new number by wearing a “Not Becky” pin to the after-party.

The romantic twosome enlivened the party before returning back to their hotel, the Carlyle, at the end of the night.

The couple must have spent enough time together at the after-party and in the hotel afterward, as they decided to spend a few days apart in the days that followed. Katy Perry was spotted spending time alone with her dog Butters in Los Angeles in the days that followed the gala event. According to the Daily Mail, Katy was as stylish as ever even while walking her dog, wearing a black fitted Adidas tracksuit top and pants combo that highlighted her well-maintained physique.

Her sporty look was made more stylish by a pair of black slides, a black baseball cap, and a leather purse with cross stitching and a gold chain strap that went well with the laid-back look. However, it was not her Friday afternoon look and sportswear that improved her mood — it was, in fact, that she was with her beloved dog Butters, whom she lovingly cradled in her arms.

In other news, Katy Perry has locked horns with an unlikely opponent in a legal battle over the purchase of the former convent of the Sisters of the Immaculate Heart of Mary. According to ABC.net.au, the nuns have claimed the Archdiocese used an inaccurate translation of a Vatican decree to convince the legal authorities to approve the sale of the property.

The nuns have applied to the court in an attempt to prevent the archdiocese from selling the complex to Katy Perry for $19 million. Their application is made on the grounds that the nunnery is in charge of the property, and as such, only the convent can decide on the buyer as the proceeds from the sale of the convent would be going towards the nuns’ upkeep. The nuns are alleging that the Archdiocese of Los Angeles had withheld details regarding the Vatican decree from the judge, who went on to impose restrictions on the nuns from selling the former convent to a restaurant owner. In essence, the nuns allege that the Archdiocese who wanted to sell the property to Katy Perry had failed to inform the court about certain crucial facts.

However, there might be still hopes for Katy Perry to become the new owner of the convent, as the archdiocese is attempting to discount the sisters’ claim by stating that the remaining members of the convent were against the two nuns who were at loggerheads with Katy Perry. Although Katy Perry was brought up on Christian values, she is known to be a supporter of gay rights, and her “sultry” songs like “Teenage Dream” are seen to be contrary to the values of the church.
