Britney Spears Finally Happy & Healthy After ‘Years Of Being Heavily Medicated,’ Says Dancer

Following Britney Spears’ stellar comeback performance at the 2016 Billboard Music Awards on May 22, one of her dancers is now claiming that the singer is finally happy and healthy after years of turmoil in her personal life.

Speaking out in a new interview with the Mirror, one of Spears’ dancers revealed that “the happy, smiley, fun-loving Britney of yesteryear is back” and has been “like a different person” in recent months during her Britney: Piece of Me Las Vegas residency shows.

“It’s been a long time coming, but it’s like a weight has been lifted off her shoulders,” the unnamed dancer revealed to the Mirror this week, adding that Britney is “learning how to be happy again” following her incredibly public 2007 meltdown.

The dancer also claimed that Britney has been taking heavy medication for years to combat her bipolar disorder, which Spears spoke openly about in her 2013 E! documentary, I Am Britney Jean, but she has now found a happy balance that allows her to life her life freely.

“After years of being heavily medicated – at times she was all but sedated – she is clean and actually living,” Britney’s dancer told the Mirror, admitting that after years of “cutting herself off,” even from her tour mates, Britney is “now laughing and joking with all of us, and getting involved with everyone on the tour.”

“It’s brilliant to see, and everyone is really proud of how far she has come,” the source continued of Spears.

A second insider also spoke out about Britney’s new-found happiness with the Mirror, confessing that “Britney is all about holistic healing,” which she often shows off on her Instagram page with shots of herself meditating and pulling off impressive yoga poses.

“This means no drugs and more meditation, yoga and good old-fashioned exercise,” the source admitted to the site, revealing that Spears is quite possibly in the best shape of her life after hitting the gym “at least four days a week.”

Britney Spears also has her own personal trainer, according to the source, and is keeping her body in check with her vigorous dance routines for her uber-popular Las Vegas shows, which Spears showcased during her Billboard Music Awards performance.

“She is incredibly fit and has reclaimed her abs from her teenage days. She is really taking care of herself and looks amazing,” the insider added.

Spears previously spoke out about her past struggles during her I Am Britney Jean documentary, where she openly reflected on the media storm that surrounded her every move during her 2007 highly publicized meltdown.

“There was a time in my life when I couldn’t ever leave the house without 20 cars following me. I felt very alienated from the public,” Britney admitted in the candid moment. “But as time passed, they lightened up and they kind of went away after I wouldn’t come out of the house for, like, two years.”

Spears confessed that 2007 formed a “very difficult” time for her, admitting that the constant paparazzi surrounding her made her feel “really alienated.”

Britney also opened up about her past struggles in her 2008 documentary, Britney: For The Record, where Spears admitted that she had “totally lost her way” at that particular point in her life.

“My trust has really been battered. I lost focus. I lost myself. I let certain people into my life that were just bad people… because I was lonely,” Britney Spears confessed in the seriously candid moment, admitting, “I had let people into my life that were just bad people… I really paid the consequences for that. Big time.”
