Bryan, TX (AHN) – Officials have ordered the evacuation of residents of Bryan, Texas because a fire is burning at a local chemical plant.

Firefighters are battling the blaze at a chemical plant warehouse just outside the town of 72,000 100 miles northwest of Houston.

The chemical plant near Texas highways 21 and 47 contains ammonium nitrate, which carries a high risk of exploding. It is so dangerous that crews are just letting the fire burn itself out, because they can’t safely approach the blaze.

Firefighting crews from Brazos County Fire Channels as units from Bryan, College Station and multiple volunteer departments, along with a US Army Hazardous Materials unit are on the scene, according to Firefighters Hourly.com.
