Nigerian Man Allegedly Beats Neighbor’s Son, 14, To Death For Molesting His 6-Year-Old Daughter

A Nigerian man, Saheed Oladimeji, 32, was arrested on murder charges following the alleged fatal beating of his neighbor’s son, 14, who he claims molested his 6-year-old daughter, according to the Daily Post.

At approximately 5 p.m. on May 5, Oladimeji was at his home, located in the Adagbada area, Arola Community in Ido Local Government Area of the state, when the son of his next-door neighbor, Matthew Ohiosumuan, asked if his daughter could run an errand for him.

Oladimeji agreed to let his daughter go but quickly called her back home when he heard her saying, “Brother Matthew, leave me alone.” As she was walking back to her home, her father stated that “her looks were hard and she was holding her underpants.” When asked what happened, his daughter said that “it was Matthew who removed her pants and slept on her.”

When Ohiosumuan saw the child’s father talking to her, he reportedly ran away before he could be questioned about the incident. However, when his brother Seun returned home from school later that day, Oladimeji told him what had happened.

Afterward, Seun went in search of the boy who was accused of molesting a 6-year-old girl and brought him to face Oladimeji for questioning. When the father of the child asked about the incident, he denied it and said that “he only asked her to buy rice for him.”

NAIJ reported that Oladimeji didn’t believe the boy, therefore, he took a rope and began beating him for molesting his daughter. According to the child’s father, as he was hitting his neighbor’s son with a rope, he ran away, and that’s when he fell face down and fainted, but Oladimeji initially thought he was pretending.

Witnesses reportedly ran to the child’s aid and poured water on him to wake him up, but it was to no avail. Oladimeji stated that the boy wouldn’t move, so he took him to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead upon arrival.

“I never intended to injure the boy, as I always encouraged him to face his studies or learn a vocation, so that he would be a responsible boy,” said Oladimeji. “He was close to me and I used to advise him a lot. I also used to give him clothes that had become tight on me.”

“I am so pained by his death because it was unexpected. I pray that God should save me from this problem. If God should get me out of this, I would never beat any child, even my own child.”

However, Matthew’s brother Seun said otherwise, stating, “Oladimeji told me that my brother attempted to sleep with his daughter and showed me a rope that he intended to use to tie him down so that he could discipline him. When Matthew was called, he denied the allegation, but the suspect did not believe him.”

“He first whipped him with a rope and I told him that the reprimand was enough, but he did not listen to me. He started raining blows on his head, and two sides. This made Matthew to fall down but this did not deter Oladimeji.”

“He started kicking the deceased so hard that passers-by had to caution him not to kill him,” Seun added. “But he replied that if Matthew died, he would go and bury him at the Powerline Cemetery at Apete.”

“Unfortunately, Matthew could not get up.”

Although Saheed Oladimeji claims that his intent was to only teach the boy a lesson for molesting his 6-year-old daughter, he was taken into custody by the Oyo state police officials. He is currently facing murder charges for beating his neighbor’s son to death.
