‘The Originals’ Season 4 Will See Time Jump, Marcel Not The Main Villain? [Spoilers]

The Originals Season 3 finale may have only been last week, but fans are already questioning about how Season 4 will play out. There is the possibility that there will be a time jump, and Marcel may not even be the main villain despite the way he ended Season 3.

After three years, it looks like Marcel may finally have his home back — at least for a short period of time. After becoming an Uber Original, he put Klaus on trial for his centuries of atrocities and stabbed him with Papa Tunde’s blade. He also bit Elijah and Kol, and Freya had been poisoned. Rebekah returned, but the curse has taken over her, and she is finding it harder and harder to stay in control.

Freya decided to link all the Mikaelsons to Klaus, and Rebekah was able to keep Klaus alive by encouraging Marcel to use Papa Tunde’s blade. He will be left to desiccate, but all the siblings will be together, including Rebekah. It will be up to Hayley to find the cures that they all need, and that will take years.

There were hints that The Originals would follow The Vampire Diaries with a time jump. That is certainly possible now with the way Season 3 ended. When Caroline went in search for Klaus in The Vampire Diaries, she was told Klaus hadn’t been seen for three years. It would be easy to believe that The Originals will start back three years into the future, with Hayley searching for something to help her predicament.

Narducci did confirm a time jump would happen, but not how far ahead in time that jump would be. He has just said that it will feel normal for the viewers. Three years would make the most sense, as fans know Klaus cannot be found for at least that time.

Showrunner Michael Narducci has also hinted that she will not be alone, but that the Mikaelsons will appear. With them being in the same dream world, Hayley could use a witch or her vampire side to get into that dream world and talk to the others.

It would be easy for fans to now view Marcel as the big bad of The Originals Season 4, but that is not the way it will play out. Narducci says that Marcel has always done what he believes right and just wanted his city back from the moment Klaus and his siblings first came back to town. He will likely want to get things back in order. The Christian Times reports that Narducci has never viewed Marcel as the big evil that the Mikaelsons need to defeat. He has simply taken revenge for the peace that was disturbed by the Mikaelsons coming to town.

Marcel will eventually find out that Elijah isn’t dead. After all, the Strix will not die, and they are still connected to Elijah’s life. His sire line was never broken.

How will Klaus survive? It may not be by his siblings. Someone else could come into play to save him, and some fans hope that it will be Caroline Forbes with a The Vampire Diaries crossover.

The Originals fans will need to wait longer than usual for the next season. The CW made the decision to wait to bring the show back for the midseason break, as the Inquisitr previously reported. This is not a sign that the network doesn’t believe in the show, but a plan to help keep the viewing figures up for the winter break. The Originals Season 4 will start in January 2017, picking up from where Narducci has decided is best. The official date for the release has not yet been confirmed.
