Kanye West Meltdown? Ex-Bodyguard Reveals The Rapper’s Disturbing Behavior

Kanye West’s ex-bodyguard, Steve Stanulis, spoke out about his former employer, claiming the 38-year-old rapper is a spoiled, self-absorbed “control freak” who displayed diva-like behavior. Various sources report that in an interview with U.K. tabloid the Sun, Stanulis, a former NYPD cop, says he previously worked for A-list stars Leonardo DiCaprio and Tobey Maguire, but that West is “the most condescending person I’ve ever met in my life.”

“I’ve been employed by a lot of high-end people but I’ve never worked for someone like him. He’s ten times worse than what you see,” Stanulis said. “You just never knew what would trigger a meltdown.”

Hollywood Life reports Stanulis only worked for West for two weeks before he was allegedly fired for speaking to West’s wife, 35-year-old social media star Kim Kardashian.

“I was amazed by the amount of bizarre behavior I saw in just two weeks. Imagine what must go on over a year,” Stanulis marveled.

West’s ex-bodyguard certainly isn’t mincing words on what it was like working for the rapper. Stanulis claimed West refused to press elevator buttons, insisted his security team only wear black because “patterns distract him,” ordered staff not to talk to each other when he walked past them and fired a bodyguard for touching his shoulder while directing him away from paparazzi to his car.

Stanulis said his first day on the job was terrible. While in an elevator with West, West stood with his arms folded and asked if he was going to press the button. When Stanulis told West he didn’t know which floor West needed, the rapper “flipped out, squealing that his time was precious and that he couldn’t believe I hadn’t called ahead to find out which floor he worked on,” according to the New York Daily News.

The former bodyguard also asserted West “started yelling and screaming” when he tried to enter the wrong room at a New York City hotel.

“After an awkward few seconds, which felt like an eternity, Kanye let me guide him back the other way,” Stanulis explained.

West’s ex-bodyguard even said watching Kanye’s daughter, North West, was easier than dealing with Kanye himself, the Mirror reports.

Stanulis said he was fired by West for talking to Kim, but the couple have denied the allegation, stating Stanulis was only a temp. According to TMZ, the gossip site said a source told them West said he has no issue with his bodyguards speaking with his wife and that the couple believe the former bodyguard claimed he was fired to try to get publicity. They reportedly hired him only for the Met Gala.

While Stanulis has harsh words about West, he feels Kim is the “polar opposite” of her husband.

“She was just naturally speaking to me in a normal manner. I would describe it as her being very gracious and having a nice dialogue. I was surprised she was very nice. She’s the polar opposite with me than he was.”

Infamous for his social media rants, it came as no surprise when West went on a seven-minute long rant during his appearance on the Ellen DeGeneres Show, rambling about everything from Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg, to his ideas on how to make humanity great, leaving Ellen and her audience in stunned silence.
