‘Game Of Thrones’ Star Sophie Turner Had A Panic Attack Thinking About The End Of HBO Series

Game of Thrones viewers have seen Sophie Turner blossom from an innocent Stark girl to a lady who had been through a lot of struggles yet managed to remain strong. After being a part of the HBO show for the last six seasons, Sophie talked to InStyle about how she felt upon realizing that Game of Thrones would soon end.

“I kind of had a bit of a panic attack the other night as I was thinking about it. It’s like graduating from high school, but it doesn’t feel like a graduation, because I don’t have a university to go onto that’s bigger and better.”

It isn’t surprising as well that the 20-year-old has admirers, but as much as possible, Sophie prefers not to date guys in the industry because of the erratic schedules.

“I’ve never dated anyone who I didn’t know before or who’s in the industry. I think that’s quite a conscious decision because the lifestyles wouldn’t work. This profession is so different to any other; the going away for long amounts of time – I think it would just be really difficult. If you meet on a job, it’s amazing. You have five months together and it’s incredible. Then, once it’s over, suddenly one of you is shooting in Australia and the other one is shooting in Spain, and you never know when you’re going to see each other again, but at least you both understand it.”

Sophie’s character, Sansa, was forced to marry Ramsay Bolton last season. In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Sophie said that “the men thing isn’t working” for Sansa after being toyed by several men in the show. She made a quip that Sansa and Margaery Tyrell would be a better tandem.

Ramsay’s raping of Sansa caused uproar last year. Some Game of Thrones fans went on to declare that they’re done with the show. The X-Men: Apocalypse actress shared the fans’ sentiments. It wasn’t easy for her to film the scene. She admitted that the night before the “really intense scene,” she and Iwan Rheon couldn’t sleep. Filming the scene “was a bit awkward,” she revealed.

Producer Bryan Cogman defended the show’s choice to include that scene. Many questioned why they didn’t let Sansa fight back and kill Ramsay on her wedding night. Bryan said that they only aimed to make the story more realistic and that not everyone could be Arya.

He added that such experience only motivated Sansa to make better plans.

“She goes [into the marriage] without the right information about Ramsay, she gets the sense that he’s dangerous, and when he turns out to be even worse than she thought, she’s not broken by the attack, she immediately sets to getting the hell out of there and planning her next move.”

Game of Thrones fans have yet to watch how Ned and Lady Catelyn’s eldest daughter will try to reclaim Winterfell. She recently reunited with Jon Snow in the fourth episode of Game of Thrones Season 6, “Book of the Stranger.”

After successfully making it to Castle Black, viewers saw a long embrace between the two Starks who had not seen each other for several years. It was one of the show’s most emotional moments, a preview of what might happen should the remaining Stark children reunite. While Sophie found the controversial rape scene awkward, her scene with Kit Harington quickly became one of her favorites.
