‘Pretty Little Liars’ Spoilers Reveal A Perilous Rescue Attempt

Warning: This article may contain spoilers for Season 7 of Pretty Little Liars.

Pretty Little Liars closed out Season 6 with some long-awaited revelations, but it also left PLL fans with a burning need for answers. What’s going to happen to Alison DiLaurentis (Sasha Pieterse) and will Mary Drake (Andrea Parker) ever be outed? What will become of Elliot Rollins (Huw Collins), now that Mary has what she wants? What will A.D. do with Hanna (Ashley Benson)? Perhaps the most pressing mystery is, of course, who is A.D.?

Pretty Little Liars Has A New Series Regular And She’s Not A Nice Person

Showrunner Marlene King revealed that PLL has upgraded actress Andrea Parker from her recurring appearances to a full time series regular, meaning Pretty Little Liars fans will be seeing much more of Mary Drake. King confessed that she was happy to learn of Parker’s upgrade, and, upon being reminded that she once said Mary Drake was the true villain of the series, the PLL showrunner said that her previous claim might still hold true.

Also a part of Mary Drake’s story arc is the way in which it will intersect with the Alison DiLaurentis story arc, and, as many Pretty Little Liars fans have been wondering since “Hush, Hush, Sweet Liars” aired, Ms. King says Alison will find out the truth about her mother’s twin sister rather quickly.

“That’s all part of the story moving forward. When we come back this summer, you’re going to find out a lot of answers,” says the Pretty Little Liars executive producer. “Season 7 is really the fastest-moving season we’ve ever had. It moves even quicker than Seasons 1 and 2, and you’re going to get answers almost on an episode-by-episode basis. So you’re going to get that answer really soon.”

King also revealed that Alison is no safer in the mental hospital than she was living at home. The PLL showrunner adds that there’s much more to Elliot Rollins than has been previously revealed on Pretty Little Liars. In fact, she suggests that Season 7 is a game changer with startling discoveries leading to a situation where the liars (and the fans) must re-evaluate who can really be trusted.

“I can’t tell you that because that’s part of the story moving forward, too,” says Marlene King, upon being asked if Elliot has even been honest about his own name.

For Hanna And Ashley Benson Fans, There’s Good News And Bad News

The good news is that “Haleb” are an item once again and that much has been officially confirmed by King, herself. The PLL showrunner admitted to the strong emotional connection still shared by the favored Pretty Little Liars couple, adding that they also have much to deal with, as far as the history they shared during that five year time jump. Also complicating matters is Hanna’s engagement and Caleb’s (Tyler Blackburn) relationship with Spencer (Troian Bellisario), a situation to which Hanna unwisely granted her blessing.

Of course, this may be all for naught, as there’s still the question of whether or not Hanna is dead. The Pretty Little Liars showrunner wouldn’t reveal exactly what happened to her, but she did say PLL fans wouldn’t have to wait long to learn the truth.

“She appeared to be dead, that’s for sure. You’ll find out the answer to that when we premiere this summer.”

Freeform released a very brief summary of the first episode of Pretty Little Liars‘ Season 7, which is titled “Tick-Tock, B—-es!” and will focus on an attempt to rescue Hanna from A.D. Aria (Lucy Hale), Emily (Shay Mitchell), and Spencer will join together to save Hanna, but the summary reveals there’s only one way to get Hanna back. The girls will have provide evidence of Charlotte’s murderer to A.D., otherwise known as Uber A.

The Season 7 premiere of Pretty Little Liars will air on Tuesday, June 21, on Freeform.
