More Details About ‘The Sims 4: Dine Out’ Emerge

It’s official! The next game pack for The Sims 4 is called The Sims 4: Dine Out, and the development team behind the juggernaut simulation series is already spilling details to the eager fan base.

According to the official website, The Sims 4: Dine Out, which launches June 7, will give sims the ability to eat out. Sims with an eye for business will also be able to own and operate a restaurant of their own. But that isn’t all that will be included in The Sims 4: Dine Out. On launch, The Sims 4: Dine Out will give sims the ability to create what the development team calls “Experimental Food.”

If you just can’t face the idea of your sim making another plate of garlic pasta, try the far more exciting, and possibly dangerous Volcano Pasta. If scrambled eggs in the morning leave your sims cold, try the Jungle Moss Egg with Lavender Wisps. If your sims aren’t the culinary type, fret not, each of the Experimental Food dishes will be available at restaurants around town. But be careful, it wouldn’t be The Sims if there weren’t potential for catastrophic failures.

In addition to options for the more culinarily adventurous sims, the development team behind The Sims 4 has something new for players who like to take screen captures and post videos of their sims. According to Sims VIP The Sims 4: Dine Out will feature an overhaul of the lighting system to make those inevitable romantic screen caps really pop.

The Sims 4: Dine Out will also add a social media component to the game. According to Sims Community, SimGuruNinja recently posted a photograph of new interactions that are part of The Sims 4: Dine Out. From their phones, sims will be able to take photographs of their food and post them to “Simstagram.”

From kitschy casual dining to trendy gastropubs, The Sims 4: Dine Out will open a world of culinary delights to entice sims. But the ultimate question is, will The Sims 4: Dine Out be enough to silence the segment of the player community disenchanted with The Sims 4 era?

As previously reported by the Inquistr, the unhappy part of the player base can be separated into two camps, players disappointed in the content released so far and players disappointed with the lack of communication between the development team and the fan base.

To soothe ire over the perceived lack of communication, the development team has doubled their social media efforts. Several key members of the development team have created Twitter accounts which they use to tease fans with new details about The Sims 4: Dine Out. The Sim Guru Twitter accounts and the official Sims 4 social media accounts will likely be buzzing with information leading up to the June 7 release of The Sims 4: Dine Out.

When it comes to the subset of fans who are disappointed with the content of The Sims 4 so far, bringing them back into the fold may not be as easy. The number one complaint among those fans when it comes to The Sims 4 is the same as it’s been since the game’s September 2014 launch, the lack of toddlers. So far the development team hasn’t given any hints for the timeframe of toddlers inevitable arrival, and no clues seem likely.

As previously reported by the Inquisitr, Sim Guru Gram, a producer on the development team, revealed that the team can’t reveal content details until the content is ready for launch. However, it is possible that the development team behind The Sims 4 is taking steps to make it easier for them to communicate with fans.

On May 17, the development team released the new monthly content patch for The Sims 4. While the patch didn’t add much new content to the game, the timing is interesting. The monthly content patches in March and April were both released around the middle of their respective months. The content patches for January and February 2016 were released around the beginning of their respective months. While it’s not unheard of for the development team to release two free content patches in within two weeks of one another, it doesn’t seem to happen with game pack releases. Which could mean that the June content patch won’t coincide with the release of The Sims 4: Dine Out.

The Sims 4: Dine Out will be available for download via Origin on June 7.
