Chumlee Arrest Update: No Jail Time, Still Affiliated With ‘Pawn Stars’

Chumlee will serve no jail time and will have continued affiliation with Pawn Stars. You heard it right. Pawn Stars favorite Austin Russell, aka Chumlee, is (no doubt) breathing a sigh of relief. The 33-year-old won’t be doing any jail time for charges brought against him in March, 2016, according to the Las Vegas Review-Journal.

Russell is due in court again on Monday morning. However, with all but two of the original charges dropped, things are looking up for the sometimes goofy Gold & Silver Pawn Shop employee. His defense attorney made this statement, in regard to recent events. The Clark County district attorney confirmed the information.

“We have reached an agreement with the district attorney’s office, which of course is subject to court approval. We are pleased with the outcome and that there are no sexual assault charges.”

The two charges that remain against Austin Russell are as follows. A single count of attempted possession of a controlled substance and a single count of owning a firearm by a prohibited person. Chumlee had a total of 11 handguns and rifles in his possession when police raided his home on March 9. The raid, as many people are aware, was the result of a sexual assault charge by a co-worker.

Prior to Chumlee’s arrest, the only legal issues he’s dealt with while living in Clark County have been minor traffic offenses. That could be the reason countless fans were so shocked by both the charges and the mess he got himself into.

Everyone close to Chumlee has remained extremely quiet since this all came down around him. The only two people who publicly made reference to his innocence were Rick and Corey Harrison, who think of him as part of the family.

As previously reported by the Inquisitr, Chumlee’s girlfriend, Tanya Hyjazi, also remained silent throughout the entire ordeal. At one time, they were seemingly very close. She helped him lose weight. He paid for her boob job. To date, no one even knows if the two are still together.

A separate Inquisitr report indicated he did take the time to go online to sell some of his vast shoe collection on eBay. As of this writing, there are several pairs up for grabs.

It’s only been in the last few days that Russell has resurfaced on social media. Could this be an indication the silence is finally over?

As you can imagine, there was much speculation as to whether or not Chumlee got fired from Pawn Stars, and the pawn shop, as a result of his legal trouble. According to Laura Herlovich, Chumlee’s publicist, he still works there and will be part of the new season. She issued a statement from Rick Harrison, about Russell’s employment status.

“Chumlee is almost like a son to me, it would be pretty much impossible to fire him.”

Are you looking forward to seeing Chumlee on the upcoming season of Pawn Stars? Are you surprised by the outcome of these events — especially the fact he’ll be getting no jail time? Feel free to leave feedback about this Chumlee arrest update below.
