Rachael Finch Slammed For Admitting She Sends Her 2-Year-Old Daughter Away Every Weekend

Rachael Finch revealed a few juicy details about her family life with husband Michael Miziner and was heavily criticized for it, according to Essential Baby. And while it’s entirely up to the former beauty queen and her husband how they choose to live their family life, many Instagram critics slammed the 27-year-old Australian TV Host over some of her comments.

Rachael Finch and her husband, like many other working parents, receive support from family to help them take care of their 2-year-old daughter, Violet.

Essential Baby reported that in her interview with Sunday Style magazine, Rachael Finch confessed that the couple gets help from their parents when they need to babysit Violet. The part that especially infuriated some commenters is the fact that the TV host and her husband drop Violet off with her mother-in-law Irena every weekend, leaving the couple with two child-free days every weekend, from Friday afternoon until Sunday morning.

“Every weekend (Violet) goes to Mish’s [Miziner’s] mom’s house, and we get our weekend to ourselves. I think that’s incredibly healthy for the relationship.”

Some people slammed Rachael Finch, saying she shouldn’t have had a baby if she wasn’t prepared to be a mom in the first place. But Finch says it’s ever better this way for the upbringing of Violet, as they pick her up on Sunday with “100 percent energy back.”

That wasn’t the only revelation that infuriated social media family-life critics, according to Huffington Post. It was also the fact that Violet spends weekdays with Rachael Finch’s husband while the 3rd Runner-Up at Miss Universe 2009 works.

When she comes back home in the late afternoon, Rachael Finch spends the evening with Violet, while her husband goes to work to his job as a dance teacher. Social media critics were quick to note that this kind of approach makes Finch and Miziner “bad” and “selfish” parents.

On one of Rachael Finch’s Instagram posts, which was shared on Mother’s Day as a promotion of her cover story for Sunday Style magazine, one commenter said Finch shouldn’t have had kids if she wasn’t prepared to be a mother.

“Every weekend? Really? Yep I’m judging your parenting. Grow up and stop being selfish. Aren’t weekends for family? Especially your children?!?”

But Rachel Finch and Miziner’s approach to childcare is not unique, as figures show about 937,000 Australian kids are currently receiving some form of childcare from their grandparents every week.

What’s also interesting is the fact that Violet has the opportunity to spend time with her great-grandmother, Miziner’s 85-year-old grandmother, Elizabeth. In fact, Elizabeth walks down to Rachel Finch and Miziner’s house herself and takes Violet for walks.

Violet also receives childcare from Rachel Finch’s mother, Colleen Zablocki. As described by Finch’s mother, Violet is “the best present” Finch has ever given to her. Violet is Zablocki’s first grandchild.

Rachel Finch and Miziner met back in 2010, when the two took part in Australia’s Dancing With the Stars. The two immediately fell in love and then married in January 2013. Rachel Finch gave birth to Violet in September 2014.

The birth of Violet changed Rachel Finch’s priorities a lot, the Australian TV host revealed.

“It was very much career and travel, which still exist, but the priorities have become Violet and family, because you have this little thing that’s dependent on you.”

In fact, Rachel Finch and Miziner are prepared to have more kids in the future, and Finch wants three or four children “one day,” while Violet is described by her as “the perfect introduction to parenthood.”
