Ariana Grande Ditches Her Princess Dress For A Latex Bunny Costume

Ariana Grande has proven she’s all grown up and a force to be reckon with in the music industry. The 22-year-old singer has ditched her princess dresses and Lolita-esque style for a much mature look.

Dangerous Woman dropped late Thursday night, May 19. Ariana Grande’s third studio album shows she’s finally growing up. However, Grande is still the princess when it comes to social media, according to Allison Chesky, the editorial director of Tiger Beat, told Newsweek. The reason why Grande’s foray into womanhood felt natural unlike her peers is because she was already growing up in the public eye. She didn’t have to do anything scandalous to prove that she’s a “Dangerous Woman.”

“Ariana was a fan favorite as Cat Valentine on Nickelodeon’s Victorious and later Sam & Cat. So, as she segued from acting to music, those fans stood by her, and as she grew up, they did too.”

While her fans stood by her during her “donut-gate” scandal in July 2015, will she risk losing her younger fans with her sexier sound? Not necessarily, says Claire Norman, a senior writer at Top of the Pops Magazine.

“As she gets older she has more to say about her wider life experience. This doesn’t mean [fans] don’t relate. Her sound and what she’s singing about is still very relevant to them.”

There’s already a clue on the album that hints Grande is growing up. On the track “Bad Decisions,” she talks about the sins she’s made, then admits that she enjoyed it.

“Ain’t you ever seen a princess be a bad b****?” she’s heard asking on the song.

Ariana Grande showed off her new image on the cover of Billboard magazine where she’s seen posing in nothing but a white towel, red lipstick, white Chanel sunglasses, and diamond jewelry. In her honest and brazen cover story, Grande shared her thoughts on feminism and double standards in the music industry.

The “Dangerous Woman” singer promises that she will be walking around naked at 95-years-old with “a sensible ponytail.”

“I will say it until I’m an old a** lady with my t*ts out at Whole Foods. I’ll be in the produce aisle, naked at 95, with a sensible ponytail, one strand of hair left on my head and a Chanel bow. Mark my words. See you there with my 95 dogs.”

She also admitted that she has tweets saved from a British radio station who praised Justin Bieber and Zayn Malik for taking nude photos but slammed Miley Cyrus and Kim Kardashian for doing the same thing.

“If you are going to rave about how sexy a male artiste looks with his shirt off, and a woman decides to get in her panties or show her breasts for a photoshoot, she needs to be treated with the same awe and admiration.”

Since she started promoting Dangerous Woman, Ari has been seen rocking a dominatrix-inspired black latex bunny costume, which she wears on the cover of the album. In the interview, she refers to her alter ego as “Super Bunny,” “my patronus,” and “my superhero, or super villain, whatever I’m feeling on the day.”

“Whenever I doubt myself or question choices I know in my gut are right – because other people are telling me other things – I’m like, ‘What would that bad b**** Super Bunny do?’ She helps me call the shots.”

Grande also defended her pop peer Selena Gomez, who has proven her maturity with her latest release, Revival. She is aware of the tabloids who refer to the pop star as Justin Bieber’s ex-girlfriend.

“I’ll never be able to swallow the fact that people feel the need to attach a successful woman to a man when they say her name. I saw a headline—draw your own conclusions [on the subjects] because it’ll be so much drama that I don’t want—they called someone another someone’s ex, and that p****d me off. This person has had so many great records in the last year, and she hasn’t been dating him forever. Call her by her name!”

It’s nice to know that Ariana and Selena support each other even though they aren’t exactly best friends or run in the same circles. However, that hasn’t stopped the singer from showing some support for her pop peers and competitors. It’s probably one of the reasons why Ariana doesn’t get involved in drama, as she stated in the interview.
