Kesha’s performance at the Billboard Music Awards is back on! After another wave of backlash and bad press, Dr. Luke and his label, Kemosabe, have decided to reverse their ruling that Kesha would be banned from performing at the Billboard Music Awards.

According to E! Online, Kemosabe Records put an official statement out restoring Kesha’s Billboard Music Awards.

“Kesha’s performance on the Billboard Music Awards was always approved, in good faith. Approval was only suspended when Kemosabe learned Kesha was to use the performance as a platform to discuss the litigation. Now that Kemosabe has obtained assurances, that it is relying upon, from Kesha, her representatives and Dick Clark Productions that neither Kesha nor her supporters will use the performance as such a platform, the approval has been restored.”

As the Inquisitr reported, the news broke that Kesha was banned from performing at the Billboard Music Awards when Dick Clark productions announced the news.

“Kemosabe subsequently rescinded its approval following a media report on Wednesday, May 11th regarding Kesha’s appearance on the BBMAs. Unfortunately, Kesha and Kemosabe have since been unable to come to an agreement for Kesha to perform on the show. dick clark productions has a long standing relationship with Kesha. We hope that the parties can come to an arrangement such that we can continue that long-standing relationship with a performance by Kesha on the Billboard Music Awards stage on May 22nd.”

Following that news, Kesha said that Dr. Luke was not going to be involved in her performance, which was a tribute to Bob Dylan. The artist took to Instagram to clarify her performance and express her sadness about not being able to perform at the awards show.

Singer Lady Gaga, who has supported Kesha since she lost her court battle against Sony and Dr. Luke, spoke out against Dr. Luke, calling him a villain.

“Isn’t it strange that it’s legal to own a woman this way? Listen, Ursula, we want her voice back. #freeKesha”

Lady Gaga, of course, is speaking to the lawsuit that Kesha lost. Kesha wanted to be released from her contract with Sony Music, after she said she suffered emotional, verbal, and sexual abuse at the hands of producer Dr. Luke. The judge said that since Kesha doesn’t have to directly work with him, there was no reason to free Kesha from the contract. That said, Dr. Luke still has a stake in Kesha’s career. As we’ve seen, it’s easy for the producer to block Kesha from performing if he wants.

Kesha’s mother also took to Twitter to air her frustrations.

Fortunately, Kesha will be singing at the Billboard Music Awards if all goes according to the current plan.
