‘Destiny’: Xur’s Exotic Goods For May 20, Golden Oldies Weekend As Sunbreakers Return

It is a golden oldies weekend for Xûr’s latest visit to Destiny. The mysterious vendor hit the Tower on Friday with some classic Exotic pieces not yet sold for Year Two of the PlayStation and Xbox online shooter, such as The Glasshouse and Sunbreakers.

Xûr can be found just outside of the Speaker’s building, next to the railing overlooking the city this weekend. Turn left as soon as you spawn in the Tower and run straight to the north part of the social space. Here’s where you can find him on the Tower map.

For those wondering what to get, here are a few helpful hints.

Universal Remote

The Universal Remote shotgun is one of the rare, non-primary weapons that can be placed in the primary weapon slot. It’s not a top-tier shotgun in terms of its range and impact, but it allows for extreme play styles by pairing it up with Sniper or Fusion Rifles. It is mostly a novelty weapon, but that is part of the fun.

The Glasshouse

The Glasshouse is the other Defender specialty Titan Helmet. If you play as a Titan who likes to drop the Ward of Dawn bubble shield and give the Weapons of Light or Blessing of Light perks to your teammates in Raids or other activities, you should absolutely buy this. The “Bathed in Light” perk on the helmet makes Weapons of Light or Blessing of Light last an extra five seconds. This is extremely helpful for a fireteam in PVE boss fights, as it will allow either dishing out or absorbing damage even longer. The Helm of Saint-14 is more of a companion to the piece, as both fit different uses for the Ward of Dawn.

Optional Glasshouse perks include “Hands-On” for bonus Super energy from melee kills in PVE and “Second Thoughts” for Super energy from Special Weapon kills in PVE. The single final column perk is “Invigoration” for bonus melee energy on Orb pickups.

The 79 Intellect pure stat roll is decent for Defender Titans in Destiny. It will help ensure the Ward of Dawn can be brought up again quickly. However, the perk rolls need to lean more to “Inverse Shadow” in the third column and “Invigoration” or “Better Already” in the final column. Consider a re-roll using Glass Needles.

Khepri’s Sting

Khepri’s Sting is an interesting set of gauntlets that pairs up well with either the Bladedancer or Gunslinger sub-classes. The “Touch of Venom” intrinsic perk grants invisibility when crouching and lets you do four times the damage when melee attacking an enemy from behind while invisible with a damage over time effect.

The optional perks include “Switchblade” to decrease melee cooldown and “Impact Induction” for bonus grenade energy on melee hits. The final column offers a choice between faster Hand Cannon or Fusion Rifle reloads.

The 68 pure Strength stat roll is perfect for Khepri’s Sting. Maxing out this stat is a must to get the most use out of its intrinsic perk.

Sunbreakers

The Sunbreakers are for all the Warlock Sunsingers (a.k.a. Sunbros) and has a specific focus on the Solar Grenades. The “Helium Cycle” intrinsic perk increases the duration of the Solar Grenade approximately another two seconds and grants a second Solar Grenade.

The optional perks include “Energy Projection” for increased grenade throw distance and “Impact Induction” for bonus grenade energy on melee hits. The final column optional perks offer increased reload speed between Scout Rifles and Fusion Rifles.

The 45 Intellect, 45 Discipline stat roll for the Sunbreakers is decent enough. If you don’t have a pair, this is a good pickup for Warlocks in Destiny this weekend.
