‘Supernatural’ Spoilers Season 11 Episode 23: Alpha And Omega [Video]

Supernatural Season 11 is about to come to an end with the finale episode 23, titled “Alpha and Omega.” There are many things to say about what’s to come, but the best way to describe it is that everything has an end.

What has been quite clear up until this point on Supernatural is that the show will not shy away from crossing any boundaries, any religion, or any supernatural phenomena, which includes aliens and other classic science fiction entities.

Supernatural has always had a presence in the Christian style of religion, considering all of the angels, the presence of Lucifer, and of course God himself. But there have been certain limitations in the show that shied away from going too far with the religion angle and focusing more on the horror and fun aspects. But Season 11 of Supernatural has been all too eager to make God its number one priority. After all, what is the Darkness unless there is Light?

In the next episode of Supernatural, according to TV Guide, there is going to be a reckoning of sorts and there will be consequences felt all around the globe. The battle between God and Amara is far from over and with all that has happened in the last episode, fans are quite smitten with what’s to come on Supernatural.

So before we get too deep on where Supernatural will be going in the next episode, let’s just take a look at “the road so far.” [Insert Kansas song “Carry On Wayward Son” here]

Considering that the last episode of Supernatural featured the ultimate battle between good and evil, darkness and the light, God and Amara were forced into something of a stalemate when they clashed with each other, according to Entertainment Weekly. But God did something that not many TV shows or films would allow due to conflicting interests – he enlisted the help of evil angels and hell’s demons.

But before God could rally the troops, he had to sit his son down for a little heart to heart. He had to take that long overdue moment to explain to him about the birds and the bees – of existence.

That son, which was Lucifer of course, was just a little angry over being locked away for all these years just because he could not handle the Mark of Cain. As a matter of fact, it took such a toll on him that after God would not give him an apology, he ran off to Dean’s room and pouted over loud music, like any true teenager would. (Poor Lucifer)

Suffice it to say that in the end, God and Lucifer were able to mend their ways long enough to come up with a battle plan to fight Amara, just like any good episode of Supernatural would. That battle plan included enlisting the help of Crowley and his demons of hell, Rowena and her team of witches, and of course, the angels.

Here is the thing, though. If God was all-powerful, then why would he need all of that mojo to fight Amara? Of course it was explained on Supernatural that God and Amara are equals in terms of power. But why does he need to conjure up the beings of his own creation to help him? He is all-powerful, right?

Well, the God of Supernatural explains that he did not actually create civilization, but rather that it was already there. It just needed someone, or something, to come along and nurture it. So that made sense to use Rowena and the power of the witches.

But in the finale episode of Supernatural, “Alpha and Omega,” God is going to make a decision that will not only affect him and Amara, but will have a reverberating effect on the Winchester boys as well.
