Randy Travis Hospitalized After Alleged Drunken Fight In Church Parking Lot


Plano, TX – Randy Travis was hospitalized after an alleged drunken fight in a Texas church parking lot. Police officers labeled Randy Travis the “primary aggressor” in the fight, which allegedly began as an argument between a husband and wife, Newser reports. Plano, Texas police officers also note it was not clear what the verbal altercation between the couple was about or why Randy Travis got involved in the dispute, which occurred around 1 am on Friday morning.

The most recent Randy Travis arrest is his third this year linked to alcohol. Travis’ arrest last month also occurred during early morning hours near a church and involved nudity, as previously reported on Inquisitr. Travis has only been out of jail for only a few weeks, the felony retaliation and obstruction charges stemming from the arrest are still pending, Fox News notes. In February Randy Travis was arrested for public intoxication in a different Texas church parking lot.

TMZ reports Randy Travis, 53, was cited for simple assault and was transported to a local hospital for medical care. Plano police officers responded to the church after a tip about the fight was reported. A TMZ source claims Randy Travis was “extremely intoxicated” and the fight between the country music singer and the husband occurred over a “girl” which sources indicate was the wife.

A third man was also allegedly involved in the Randy Travis fight at the Plano, Texas church parking lot, according to the Daily Mail. Randy Travis recently split Elizabeth Travis, his wife of 19 years and personal manager. Travis has won 24 country music awards, including 6 Grammys.
