Jill And Jessa Duggar Pregnant Again? Rumor Claims Sisters Planned Pregnancies To Save Their Reality Show From Cancellation

Jill and Jessa Duggar may be pregnant again as rumors claim that the sisters are planning more children in a bid to keep their reality show on the air.

The Duggar sisters are the last remaining family members in the television spotlight after TLC moved to cancel their family’s 19 Kids and Counting last year in the wake of Josh Duggar’s molestation and sex addiction scandal. Though the show was pulled from the air amid an advertiser backlash, the popularity of the two grown and married Duggar sisters led TLC to salvage some of the family’s fame with Jill & Jessa: Counting On.

The show followed both Jill and Jessa through their pregnancies and the trials and tribulations of caring for infants, while also focusing some attention on older brother Josh’s trip to sex rehab and the effect it had on his family.

Despite the attention from the focus on Josh and his family, Jill & Jessa: Counting On stumbled a bit in the ratings and even faced rumors that it was headed to cancellation. The show ended the season with a bit of a teaser about the family’s future, showing Jill and husband Derick visiting an orphanage in El Salvador and leading to rumors that they could be adopting.

Christian Daily reported that there are rumors both Jill and Jessa Duggar may be planning to get pregnant, each having a second child partly to keep their struggling reality show alive.

Jill and Jessa have fueled the pregnancy rumors themselves, Hollywood Gossip noted, citing an interview in which they both talked about having another child.

“I think we will probably be pregnant at the same time, but to say who will be first, well Israel is older… so we will see,” Jill said.

“I’m not pregnant yet, that’s the question everyone keeps asking me. Not yet,” she added. “I feel like we will have another child. I just don’t know how. It will probably be a naturalized citizen of the family.”

While Jill and Jessa Duggar may be planning to both get pregnant again, there may be little evidence to suggest it has anything to do with their reality show. The Duggar family is known for subscribing to the Christian “quiverfull movement” that calls on adherents to eschew birth control and have as many children as possible. As faithful members, it’s likely that both Jill and Jessa would be planning to have more children regardless of the effect it may have on their television show.

There have even been rumors that Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar are aiming for their 20th child, likely through adoption. Late last year, reports indicated that the couple was going through the initial steps of adding another child to the family.

“They’ve been mulling it over for a long time, and they feel the time is right to get legal advice and get the process underway,” a source told Life & Style. “They’re looking to adopt a child in the New Year.”

Michelle Duggar, now nearing 50, was pregnant in 2011 but suffered a miscarriage, and the chances remain slight that she would become pregnant again. But the couple may still want to have another child, and sources say they don’t care what it might be.

“Michelle says she doesn’t care if they adopt a boy or a girl, or what ethnicity the child is,” the source told Life & Style. “She says she just wants to help a child’s life.”

Whatever truth there may be to the rumor that Jill and Jessa Duggar are planning to get pregnant again, the attention surrounding them shows that the family has continued to move beyond the scandals that Josh sparked last year and instead focus on a brighter and more controversy-free future.
