Fox News Poll Shows Trump Beating Clinton

Fox News has released a new poll that shows GOP nominee Donald Trump beating Democratic nominee Hilary Clinton in a head-to-head match up, if the general election were to be held today.

For most people in the country, Fox News is generally considered a right-leaning news company that tends to favor conservative GOP nominees for the most part. So it is hard to say what kind of bias might have been reported in the latest poll they conducted, which shows Trump beating Clinton by three percentage points right now, 45 – 42.

But while we are on the subject of Fox News and conservative bias, let’s just take a look at what their previous polls had said about Trump versus Clinton. Back in February, their poll reported that Clinton had edged Trump out by five percentage points, which was 47 – 42. But in March, Fox News had Clinton winning by 11 percentage points, 49 – 38. Fox News in April had Clinton winning by seven percentage points, which was 48 – 41.

So now, for the first time this year, Fox News has Trump winning by three percentage points, and they also claim that he is on par with his previous GOP nominee, Mitt Romney, from back in 2012 when his favorable rating started to increase against current president, Barack Obama.

But it is really hard to put a margin of error on a poll like this that has been conducted by a biased organization like Fox News. Voters need to remember that no matter what, they could be only sliding the favorable number to the Republican nominee, no matter who it was.

The tables were quite different for Fox News back in February when the news network had a very public feud going with Donald Trump over the contents of the first GOP debate, which left Megyn Kelly holding the punching bag while Trump let loose on her in the media and on social media.

Back then, those poll numbers that showed Clinton beating Trump in every major contest for a general election could have had something to do with how they were influencing GOP primary voters, back when Jeb Bush and Ted Cruz were still viable candidates for the GOP nomination.

The cause and effect for the Fox News poll numbers could have indeed had a manufactured margin of error, which could have been their way of trying to skew the voter results. One way or another, Fox News has been instrumental in the presidential races, given what took place back in 2000, when they reported that George W. Bush had won Florida before all the votes had even been cast. Some have even said that Fox News actually handed the presidency to Bush back then.

But the new poll is just another reason for voters to be cautious about what kind of poll results may turn out of a bias news organization like Fox News, given its track record of influencing the vote in certain contests.

Nevertheless, the Fox News poll did report some statistics that would seem to be on par with what the eventual turnout would be when broken down by specific demographics.

In terms of women voters, Fox News reports that Clinton took the lead by 14 points. But in the man vote, Trump pounced on Clinton by over 22 points.

Trump also overtook Clinton in the Fox News poll among white people who do not have a college degree, which was a towering lead by 37 points. But that’s not really too surprising, until you factor in that Trump also took the lead by nine points among white women.

On the flipside, Clinton overtook Trump among black voters by 83 points, which was a 90 – 7 result. But among the Hispanic vote, she only took 62 – 23 over Trump. It would seem as though that gap would have been wider, but Fox News reports that it isn’t.
