‘Outlander’ Spoilers: Scene With Jamie & Frank Cut From Show

Outlander fans were in for a treat with a special scene featuring both of Claire’s husbands, Jamie and Frank, but it was sadly cut from the show in Season 2.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, Outlander writer Matt Roberts revealed that Jamie was going to be in a dream-like state where he would be in a scene with both Frank, Black Jack Randall, and Claire at the same time, which would have been a first for the time traveling Starz drama. Unfortunately, that scene had to be cut due to production issues.

“I started the script for this episode with a dream that we didn’t get to film. It bums me out still. Jamie was in a dream trying to deal with the ramifications of the promise he just made, and it was between him, Frank and Black Jack. The three of them were together and Claire steps in.”

Roberts went on to reveal that the scene would have taken place in the Claire’s modern-day world and would have been very interesting to see Jamie in the 20th century.

“He was in a car with Claire driving and he was seated between Black Jack and Frank, and then you flash to the Battle of Culloden and Frank basically grabs Claire’s hand and tells her it’s time to come home. Jamie would then wake up from the dream distraught and put off.”

Sadly, Matt’s reveal of the cut scene will be the closest Outlander fans get, for now, to getting both of Claire’s husbands together at the same time.

Meanwhile, the Outlander cast was reportedly very excited about shooting the cut scene, as it would be the first time all the main characters of the show would appear together onscreen, but production issues halted the scene, and the show was forced to cut it out and re-adjust the episode.

Meanwhile, viewers did get to see Jamie and Black Jack Randall battle it out after Jamie specifically swore an oath to Claire that he would not fight him for at least a year, giving Randall time to have a child with Mary Hawkins and ensure Frank’s future birth.

Jamie completely betrayed Claire by fighting Black Jack, and the situation did not end well. Jamie and Randall were arrested and taken to the Bastille while Claire began having serious pregnancy complications.

In this week’s all-new Outlander episode, the fate of Claire and Jamie’s unborn baby will be revealed, and fans who have read the book series know all too well what comes next for the embattled couple.

Now fans want to know why Jamie would betray Claire the way he did, and that question will be answered in Season 2, Episode 7, titled “Faith.” There will be a set of flashbacks that will reveal the shocking reason that led to Jamie and Black Jack Randall deciding to go ahead with their duel, even though it is forbidden in Paris, and Jamie promised his wife he would not do it.

In the preview for “Faith,” Claire is seen extremely upset about her husband’s betrayal of his word, and wondering how getting revenge on Randall could have been more important to him than his wife and unborn child.

Could it be that Black Jack Randall actually had something to do with the attack on Claire and the rape of Mary Hawkins? Perhaps Randall was the man who raped Mary and already impregnated her, ensuring Frank’s lineage and future existence.
