What Does it Take to Become the World’s Worst Airline?

Nobody wants to think that their airline might be the worst airline in the world, and it may actually be one of the best. But, when it comes to flying, whether it’s in between states or across the world, you want to feel confident in the ability of the airline you choose. We want to help you find the perfect airline, especially after the recent crash of EgyptAir flight 804, which you can read a little more about on The Inquisitr. We’ve broken this down into a few categories to better demonstrate the aspects of a truly horrible airline. These categories are food, pricing, customer service, delays, and last but not least, crashing.

Food

Air Koryo, North Korea’s very own worst airline, is the winner of our Worst Airline, when it comes to food, and many other things. But the food is probably the worst offense. In the video, the food actually looks mediocre. It’s not disgusting and is reminiscent of Chinese fare, even though it’s North Korean. The rice is set with some sort of stew, and a few side dishes are present. Uncertainty as to what is accompanying the small tomato brings the thought of… mystery meat? The sad thing is that this is actually a business class meal. Can you imagine what the economy class people are left with? Easy enough to determine this is a candidate for worst airline in the world.

Pricing

This may not necessarily lead one to believe that this makes an airline one of the worst in the world. But, when it comes to Emirates, a flight from the west coast to India can run you around $30,000. With that being said, it is first class, and they offer you many amenities, but if you can afford to pay that much money, you could just buy your own private jet. With a price tag like that, you can only wonder and guess as to where that money is really going.

Customer Service

Allegiant Air has become the crown bearer of worst airline customer service. We would say worst customer service onboard an airplane, but Allegiant wouldn’t even let the Dana family finish boarding upon hearing about young Theo Dana’s peanut allergy. The Danas spoke out to the New York Daily News regarding their feelings of the ordeal, proclaiming Allegiant to have the worst airline customer service.

“Other airlines have been very kind and helpful with Theo’s allergy – Allegiant flight attendants were very condescending and snarky toward us rather than being helpful or accommodating.”

Delays

The winner of this category has a not-so-amazing 70 percent on-time rate. However, this statistic is the cause of having the majority of your planes based in the Windy City, where inclement weather can stop your whole fleet from taking off. We present to you American Eagle Airlines. Luckily, it isn’t a household name, so a lot of our readers won’t have to deal with them, but in the off chance you book with possibly the worst airline in the world, please take along the proper reading material.

Crashes

Within the last 20 years, this airline has had five fatal accidents, if we break that down, that comes out to about once every four years. Which is why, for our list of worst airlines, we saved American Airlines for last. Everyone can live with a terrible meal or poor customer service, but when people start dying, it is a lot easier to lose the confidence you have for a company. We won’t even go into details about all the engine malfunctions and smaller-scale accidents that happened in the last 15 years, but it’s at least once a year, and if that doesn’t make it the worst airline around, we’re not sure what would.

It’s our duty to bring knowledge and information to our readers, we only hope that it is well accepted and maybe has the ability to save someone’s life, so please be aware of the worst airline in the world.
