Reese Witherspoon’s Book Club, And The One Item Of Clothing She’ll Never Wear

Reese Witherspoon invites you to join her reading club, according to Elle U.K. It looks like the Hot Pursuit actress picked up the trend started by Emma Watson: starting literature groups.

The latest trend among celebrities is to share what books they’re currently reading and encourage their social media followers to read the same books with them. And it looks like Reese Witherspoon has a goal of starting her own reading club, as the actress has been posting her current reads for weeks now.

Reese Witherspoon uses her Instagram account to inform her 6 million followers about her current reads. The actress usually posts a book cover along with a little synopsis of the book. The list of the books Witherspoon has read over the past few weeks includes Mindy Kaling’s Why Not Me? and Drew Barrymore’s Wildflower.

Reese Witherspoon’s reading list also includes Kimberley McCreight’s The Outliers, Sloane Crosley’s The Clasp, Elena Ferrante’s The Story Of A New Name, Colm Toibin’s The Testament of Mary, and Jon Ronson’s So You’ve Been Publicly Shamed.

And just last week, Reese Witherspoon shared an Instagram post, in which she thanked Kimberly Williams-Paisley for her Where The Light Gets In book. So it’s quite a reading list to get started on.

“Such a moving exploration of the love between a mother and daughter… It takes such bravery to talk so openly about your mother’s journey with dementia and how your family has handled it all.”

Reese Witherspoon likes to stick to her favorite personal style and not be influenced by current fashion trends, according to Bustle. In fact, that’s the reason why the Wild actress has items of clothing that she will absolutely never wear.

In her interview with People Magazine, Reese Witherspoon revealed that it’s really important for her to stay in her comfort zone when it comes to fashion. And in order to feel that comfort and confidence in her clothing, the actress will never wear the things her teenage daughter is wearing.

So for Reese Witherspoon, who turned 40 just recently, it’s all about the age when it comes to her outfit choices.

“I have a rule that if my teenage daughter is wearing it, I’m not supposed to be wearing it.”

So what is this one item of clothing in particular that Reese Witherspoon feels is off-limits at her age? That’s cut-off shorts. Although cut-off shorts are worn by women in their 40s and 50s, Witherspoon feels like it’s a no-no for her wardrobe.

“I feel like I am too old to be wearing cut-offs at this point… it probably does have to do with my age.”

But the main reason that Reese Witherspoon isn’t wearing cut-off shorts is probably because she wants to stay true to her personal style. And her personal style definitely includes tailored shorts, as the actress has shown how stylish she looks in them numerous times.

Just two days before Mother’s Day, Reese Witherspoon dedicated a Flashback Friday Instagram post to her mother, Betty, according to the Daily Mail.

The 40-year-old Wild actress shared an image of a framed photo of herself as a child and her Tennessee-born mom. And Reese Witherspoon knows who to thank for her beautiful looks, as her mom has the same mesmerizing smile as Reese.

Reese Witherspoon has three children of her own, so she surely got lots of love from them on Mother’s Day as well. Her mother was born under the name of Mary Elizabeth Reese, but is known as Betty Witherspoon.

Betty is still married to Reese Witherspoon’s dad, Dr. John Draper Witherspoon, even though the pair split 20 years ago, in 1996. Betty worked as a childcare and mental health professor at Vanderbilt University.
