Gwen Stefani And Blake Shelton: Did Miranda Lambert Throw Shade At Couple’s Social Media PDA?

Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton use social media to celebrate their unlikely love story, and their fans enjoy following their Twitter flirtations and reading their supportive messages for one another. However, Miranda Lambert probably isn’t impressed with their online love-fest. Blake’s ex-wife recently spoke out about oversharing on social media, and there’s a good chance that she was trying to throw a little shade Gwen and Blake’s way.

During an interview for the print edition of Entertainment Weekly, Miranda Lambert talked about why she rarely uses Twitter and Instagram to update her fans on her personal life.

“I really believe in leaving some mystery,” Miranda said, according to People. “I don’t need to know what everybody’s doing all the time – especially with heroes of mine. I want to keep admiring them from afar.”

However, Miranda Lambert can’t deny that she’s interested in what’s going on in the life of her ex-husband’s new girlfriend. As Entertainment Tonight reports, Miranda started following Gwen Stefani on Twitter last December. Gwen refused to be a “follow back girl” by returning the favor.

By following Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton on Twitter, Miranda Lambert subjected herself to seeing a lot of sweet and supportive social media interactions between the lovebirds as well as intimate photos and videos of them together. It’s rare that a week goes by that Gwen and Blake don’t use Twitter, Snapchat, or Instagram to update their fans on what they’re doing.

Gwen and Blake also use social media to promote each other’s music and media appearances.

Miranda Lambert has referenced her own relationship on social media, but she’s only shared two photos of her boyfriend, Southern soul singer Anderson East. As Us Weekly reports, the first Instagram picture Miranda posted was taken during the couple’s Aspen ski trip over the New Year holiday. It was an intimate photo that showed Miranda and Anderson laughing and cuddling under a blanket together.

Miranda Lambert posted the second Instagram photo of Anderson East the day after Valentine’s Day. It pictured the two singers performing Mariah Carey’s “Always Be My Baby” together.

Miranda might disagree with Gwen Stefani’s decision to document her Spring Break vacation with Blake Shelton on Snapchat, but there’s no doubt that Shefani fans love getting all these little glimpses into Gwen and Blake’s relationship.

It’s possible that their decision to be so open with their romance also contributed to the success of their new duet, “Go Ahead and Break My Heart.” During an interview with Access Hollywood, Gwen expressed her awe that she played a part in creating a chart-topping country song.

“I just never thought that in my wildest dreams I would be number one on country,” Gwen said. “That doesn’t even make any sense at all, does it?”

“Go Ahead and Break My Heart” is about the trust issues Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton struggled with in the wake of their respective divorces. Blake told Access Hollywood that he and Gwen both had reservations about jumping into a relationship so soon after having their hearts broken, and the song is about letting their guards down and doing it anyway. Blake says that they both accepted that they would likely end up broken-hearted again, but they’re still going strong six months later.

Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton are set to perform “Go Ahead and Break My Heart” together at the Billboard Awards on May 22, so Miranda Lambert might want to avoid social media around that date.
