‘Game of Thrones’: Fans Left In Tears When Sansa And Jon Snow Reunite

On the May 15 episode of Game of Thrones, fans finally got what they’ve been waiting years for: a Stark reunion! Back in season one, all the Starks lived harmoniously at Winterfell, and since then viewers have watched the Stark family separated and killed off throughout the seasons. It has been a very long time since two Starks have been in a scene together and were actually able to interact.

Viewers watched Arya arrive right after The Red Wedding, watched Bran have to ignore the urge to connect with Jon, and watched Arya and Sansa just miss each other by the Veil. It seemed as though the Starks were destined to remain apart on Game of Thrones, never to see each other again. Until, now.

Just as Jon Snow was packing up his bags to leave the Wall, Sansa and Brienne, along with Podrick, arrived at the Wall, and Sansa and Jon were finally reunited. Seeing these two, who have been separated for the past five seasons, finally come back together was heartwarming enough to make fans jump out of their seats and cry. Game of Thrones fans everywhere couldn’t contain their happiness at this mini Stark reunion.

Now that the Starks are back together again Sansa is ready to take back her home. Jon, however, is not so eager and just wants to stop all the fighting and killing. Even so, Sansa’s not willing to give up her home to Ramsay Bolton without a fight and tells Jon if he won’t help her she’ll take back Winterfell herself. Go Sansa!

Later in the episode it is Ramsey’s letter to Jon that really pushes him to take back Winterfell, however. Ramsey explains that he has Rickon and then goes on to describe, in detail, the terrible things he plans to do to Rickon and Sansa. Jon questions if Ramsey even has Rickon and Sansa tells him that he does without hesitation and that Ramsey definitely killed his father as well.

Jon is still hesitant at this point but Sansa then gives him the motivation he needs.

“You are the son of the last true warden of the North,” Sansa tells him. “Northern families will fight for you if you ask. A monster has taken our home and our brother. We have to go back to Winterfell and save them both.”

And with that Jon finally agrees, though still a bit reluctantly. Even so, it seems like the Starks will finally be making a come back on Game of Thrones. With Jon and Sansa back together, Bran using his powers to discover some truths about his family’s past, and Arya…well hopefully she’ll also be reunited with her family at some point. Still, the skills she’s learned since she last saw her siblings are very useful and she could definitely get her revenge on anyone on her list at this point.

Game of Thrones fans couldn’t help but feel some excitement at what feels like a great turning point for the Starks.

Although no one wants to get their hopes up too soon, this is Game of Thrones after all, it’s hard not to be just a bit excited about what’s to come.
