‘Christian’ Conservatives Feel Opposition To North Carolina’s HB2 Is Sign That We Need God’s Grace

On Tuesday Billy Graham’s daughter Anne Graham Lotz was featured in a conservative radio program, The Steve Deace Show, to promote one of her books, talk about God, and provide her view of the status of the nation, in Graham-like style.

The show is on the Salem Radio Network which is shared with another conservative talk show host Hugh Hewitt, who is a frequent contributor on Meet The Press and a moderator during some of the GOP debates.

An article posted by Right Wing Watch provides the details of the interview, where she also takes the position of the Republican leadership in support of HB2 and church-state separation.

She said that the nation was shaking its fist in God’s face and abandoning God as a culture and a nation.

Deace read a quote from her late mother, “If God doesn’t judge America, he’s going to owe Sodom and Gomorrah an apology,” and then went on to get a response from Lotz as to why she thinks that America is a nation under divine judgment.

“When I see the nation of America right now, just the chaos on every level, it’s just God turning us over to ourselves. We’re using our own common sense, which has not even become common sense anymore, there’s silliness there’s craziness, the most illogical rulings. The one in North Carolina and the last one on HB2 which is to protect our children in bathrooms and locker rooms has been something where the justice department is suing us, it’s just commonsense. It’s ludicrous and so. To me it’s evidence that God has backed away and he’s removed his hand of blessing and protection, and he’s just turning us over to ourselves.”

Earlier in the same program the host and co-hosts were discussing the Facebook and Conservative media issue where Congress had something to say about it, but said that they should be doing something about the Federal government holding a gun to the head of North Carolina, regarding the lawsuits over denying transgender people bathroom access, by the gender they identify with.

The book by Lotz talks about the issues in the context of the prophet Daniel and how blessings come depending on specific prayer versus general prayer.

Steve Deace considers himself a Christian conservative and even at times engaged with Lotz with how God wants to provide a simple message to follow him and acknowledge his presence within us, but questioned why people won’t seek him.

Lotz said that the reason people find it so difficult to accept that is because people feel they do not need God and the longer people deny him, the farther away he gets to the point where he will completely back away and as given in a previously mentioned quote, will “turn us over to ourselves.”

Conservative Anne Graham Lotz Prays For Missouri Budget
Anne Graham Lotz urges the more than 500 people attending the “Show Me Your Glory Lord” service to pray for the state’s lawmakers and governor to receive wisdom in dealing with next year’s budget shortfall, Monday, March 29, 2010, in the State Capitol Rotunda in Jefferson City, Mo. In the same program, Deace talked about how people should not be twisting scriptures to validate their support for Trump, and in another show last week, he agreed that president Obama was not a Muslim but did say that he believed the President was a communist. Deace at times has played a sample from Monty Python and The Holy Grail, where a man explains how power is not given by a woman handing out swords in the water, but rather by a mandate from the people, suggesting that the president has seized power.

The pastor has imagined the world’s destruction before as The Inquisitr wrote back in 2015.

Graham Lotz’s conservatism isn’t surprising given the family line she was born into, and she goes further in the interview to say that 9/11 and the shootings in San Bernardino, are more examples what happens when we don’t accept God.

With a conservative radio host, it’s also no surprise that her message made it well through the ranks.
