Meek Mill Teases New Music On Instagram And Hints At A ‘DC4’ Collaboration With Nicki Minaj

Meek Mill is counting down the days until the conclusion of his house arrest sentencing, which took effect on March 1 as a result of the rapper’s parole violation stemming from a 2009 drug and gun conviction, and it looks like Meek is already prepared to drop some new music after being forced to take a brief hiatus during the duration of his sentencing.

On Friday, Meek Mill took to Instagram to share an audio snippet of a new, untitled track before seemingly hinting at the impending arrival of his highly anticipated Dreamchasers 4 mixtape in the caption of his video.

“I will not let the streets down!” Meek Mill began before expressing his anticipation over the conclusion of his house arrest sentencing with, “a matter of days b4 I get this s*** off my leg! #motivational.”

While Meek Mill has yet to confirm an official release date for DC4, a representative for the rapper previously spoke out against rumors suggesting that Meek was planning on dropping his new mixtape on the same day as Drake’s Views.

Rumors of an April 29 release date for Meek Mill’s Dreamchasers 4 surfaced last month after Drake confirmed the official release date for his fourth studio album during an episode of OVO Sound Radio, instantly igniting speculation that Meek Mill would go head-to-head with the Toronto rapper given the nature of the duo’s longstanding feud.

Despite the reports, a rep for Meek Mill revealed to Complex that Dreamchasers 4 would not drop on April 29 as previously rumored, albeit neglecting to offer any more information regarding a tentative release date for the project.

While Meek Mill was initially barred from working on new music during the duration of his sentencing, sources close to the rapper recently revealed to TMZ that a judge has since cleared Meek Mill to record new music in an effort to protect his brand, albeit noting that any new music must be released through free platforms such as SoundCloud and YouTube during the duration of his sentencing.

In addition to hinting at the arrival of DC4, Meek Mill also seemingly teased the arrival of a new collaboration with girlfriend Nicki Minaj and rapper Lil Uzi Vert on Instagram earlier this week.

On Wednesday, Meek Mill took to Instagram to share a pic of his new diamond-studded Rolex, which was gifted to him by Nicki Minaj for his 29th birthday on May 6, before hinting at the impending arrival of a new collaboration with Minaj in the caption of his photo.

“You know how froze dat is FT. NICKI. LIL UZI #THE4,” Meek Mill wrote on Instagram on May 11.

While it’s unclear whether or not “You Know How Froze Dat Is” is the title of the new track, some fans took to the comment section of Meek’s photo to speculate that the star-studded collaboration may serve as the lead single off of Meek Mill’s upcoming mixtape, Hot New Hip Hop reports.

The news comes just days after Nicki Minaj took to Twitter to blast her ex-boyfriend, Safaree Samuels, for reportedly attempting to “extort” her by choosing to file a lawsuit against her within days of Meek’s birthday on May 6.

Minaj took to the social media site to express her anger over the lawsuit before referring to Samuels as a “poor excuse of a man,” beginning, “Tweeted on the 5th that the 6th was my baby’s bday. Celebrated on the 6th for his bday (publicly). Served w/a lawsuit on the 9th. lol.”

Nicki Minaj continued, “Two years later this poor excuse of a man is suing me & claiming to have been physically & emotionally abused. Lol. He’s so miserable. Calling my mother crying. I said I’d help. But as soon as meek asked him to stop emailing me it’s a problem. LEAVE US ALONE!!!!!! PLEASE!!! LIKE I CANT EVEN CELEBRATE MY MAN BDAY W/O THIS MISERABLE SON OF A B**** TRYING TO EXTORT ME!!!!!”

Minaj concludes, “Imagine how it feels to have someone who gained so much off of your name refuse to let go & let u be happy. You can fool these blogs but God KNOWS! And u will suffer until u stop lying on me.”
